Background / History

Sonia and her sisters Hancock and Gorud were rescued from the Celestial Dragons by Fisher Tiger. The sisters regard him as their savior and vowed revenge after learning that Rear Admiral Strawberry had ambushed and fatally wounded him. They intercepted Strawberry in the New World; Hancock awakened Conqueror's Haki during the ensuing battle and defeated him. 10

She lives on Amazon Lily alongside Hancock, Gorud, and Norse. Sonia and Gorud initially treat Norse as a low-ranking crew member whose life belongs to the Kuja Pirates, citing their role in saving him. 2 After Norse defeats Hancock and is appointed the Kuja Pirates' vice-captain, Sonia becomes markedly more respectful of his strength. 6 14
