Could it be that he would be working himself to the bone for a better life in the future, while Aixi stayed home making handicrafts to earn money?
He shook his head, driving the thought away.
Whether ordinary people or wizards, everyone had to strive for their future. He would not have much time to spend with his children either; at most, his avatar would keep them company.
Aixi wanted to have several more children. Ahem, Dole would probably have three at most. His thoughts wandered wildly, and he sighed inwardly.
Aixi sensed Dole behind her. Turning around and seeing him, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Dole's safe return was the greatest comfort to her. Setting down what she was holding, she cast dozens of magic runes to seal away the experiment table. Supporting her belly, she slowly walked over and said as she went, "I sped up the pregnancy. Our child should be born in less than six months."
Dole blinked and asked worriedly, "Will it affect you or the child?"
Aixi smiled faintly. "Not at all. Don't worry, our child will be very healthy. But I have bad news for you—it's a girl."
Dole was not worried about that. He walked over, stroked Aixi's hair, and said, "What does that matter? A boy or a girl, either way, is my child."
Aixi wrapped her arms around Dole, feeling the warmth of his body. Then her face suddenly reddened as she said, "It's a shame I'm pregnant."
Seeing her expression, Dole was speechless as well. He pinched her cheek. "We have a long road ahead of us. What are you thinking about?"
Aixi nodded, and the two of them shared a tender moment.
The rampage of magic beasts had brought an air of tension to every region.
