History

Tang Ling first arrived outside Holy Soul Village through a spatial rift. Using his divine sense, he scanned the entire settlement and located the newborn Tang San in Tang Hao's home. 1

After traveling Soul Land for three months, Tang Ling returned and settled at the village's edge. He created a complete courtyard in less than half an hour, claimed to be a wandering soul master seeking peace, and paid Old Jack ten gold coins for the plot. 6 The villagers quickly learned of the mysterious newcomer, while Tang Hao remained wary of his unexplained abilities and knowledge of Tang Hao's hidden identity. 6 7

Tang Ling earned the villagers' favor by living quietly and helping with everyday problems, including curing Old Jack's grandson and restoring Old Li's sick cow. 7 When Spirit Hall dispatched two Titled Douluo and four Soul Sages to pursue Tang Hao, Tang Ling defeated them and declared that Spirit Hall was not to return while he remained in Holy Soul Village. 8

Tang Ling later established an array spanning the entire village, reinforcing his control over the area. 11 Spirit Hall did not send further personnel to the village after its defeat. 11 17

Following the recovery of the Innate Purple Bamboo from the Hunting Soul Forest, Tang Ling planted it in his courtyard and evolved it with Willow Nectar. The bamboo became a major cultivation site for Tang Hao's family, A Rou, Xiao Wu, Tang San, and Yu Xiaogang. 38 39 40

Martial Soul Awakening

Because Spirit Hall no longer came to Holy Soul Village after Tang Ling's warning, Old Jack had to lead the eligible children across mountains and valleys to the Spirit Hall branch in Notting City. 17

Eight six-year-old children departed from beneath the old locust tree for the ceremony. Most awakened ordinary tool, beast, or Blue Silver Grass martial souls with rank-zero innate soul power. 18 Tang San's awakening of the Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer became a major sensation associated with the village. 19

Tang Ling's Courtyard

Innate Purple Bamboo

The courtyard's Innate Purple Bamboo was originally mistaken for a ten-year Lone Bamboo in the Hunting Soul Forest. Tang Ling harvested it, evolved it into a hundred-thousand-year spiritual root with Willow Nectar, and became its acknowledged master. 34 38
