Title "True · Gazing into the Abyss"

Deep in the Mist southeast of town, Tiger-man Theo smiled as he obtained the treasure he had hoped for. Just as the Great Prophecy had foretold, he had found the first ring.

As long as he entered the ruins to the northeast and found the other ring, he would have gathered two of the seventy-three initial rings.

Unlike in his previous life, he had obtained these two rings much earlier.

That also meant he would enjoy the greatest benefits the rings had to offer, and he might even secure two seats because of them.

Suddenly, Tiger-man Theo sensed something and looked toward Human Race Town No. 74396. A beam of blood-red light fell from the sky.

The beam was deep and mysterious. Even through the fog, it was still clearly visible.

"Did this town obtain an Abyss Legacy? Was it the great pirate Pei Chao? No, his body hasn't merged with the Weird yet, so it shouldn't be him. Then who could it be?"

Theo furrowed his brow. After all, in the Great Prophecy, he had come to this world a year later, so he didn't know the details of many things.

"Could there be some other secret hidden in this Human Race town, No. 74396?"

Theo murmured softly.

For some reason, the Tiger Man sensed that something bad was about to happen.

It was much like the feeling he'd had when he used the Ghost Servant Art on Pei Chao, but this time it was clearer. He felt as if he'd plunged into an ice cellar, and his subconscious seemed to be urging him to flee.

Theo took a deep breath and gripped the ring he had just found.

Clenching the ring, Tiger-man Theo muttered to himself, "Is this the resistance I'll face for changing my fate?"

In the town center, not long after Zhao Gang had finished his speech, a beam of blood-red light descended from the sky and poured straight into the Town Crystal, like a divine miracle.

It looked as though Zhao Gang's words had brought about the change.

In an instant, the people below erupted in excitement.

But in truth, Zhao Gang was completely baffled by the beam's appearance. He had no idea what had happened.

In a corner of the town, Shadow stared at the blood-red beam, both astonished and excited.

Shadow exclaimed, "It's an Abyss Legacy!"

"An Abyss Legacy?"

Feng Buzhi recalled the reward settlement from the earlier Deep Abyss Trial.

He had placed first in the Million-Player Battle Royale and third on the historical score leaderboard, earning the Human Race 31 points of Abyss Legacy.

Could some of those 31 points of Abyss Legacy have been allocated to this town?

It seemed like quite a delay.

Shadow didn't notice Feng Buzhi's confusion and explained on:

"You know about this town's Basic Cultivation Assistance, right? It's an excellent trait.

"In fact, this trait was drawn by spending Abyss Legacy. Every town has different traits.

"No, wait. Why did an Abyss Legacy appear?

"Usually, an Abyss Legacy only appears after a member of the race makes a major contribution in town.

Feng Buzhi pondered the matter, then quickly went with Shadow and Pei Chao to Central Square.

By then, Zhao Gang had already led the crowds gathered in the square toward the eastern side of town to guide everyone in exploring the Mist.

The square was completely deserted. Feng Buzhi reached out and pressed his hand against the crystal in the square.

As Shadow had said, he didn't see any mention of Abyss Legacy under the "Information" tab. Even switching his personality to Damo, who had received the reward, made no difference.

But although he couldn't find any sign that he had permission to use it, Feng Buzhi noticed that his Personal Information had changed significantly.

His title, "Mortal Gazing into the Abyss," had disappeared, replaced by a new title: "True: Gazing into the Abyss."

Feng Buzhi quickly activated his new title, "True: Gazing into the Abyss." It was far more powerful than his old title, "Mortal Gazing into the Abyss."

After activating it, the effects of the Red Name Curse he suffered were weakened further. Combined with his mental realm, he could almost ignore them completely.

At the same time, his control over the Weird in his skin improved further. His Domain Realm made it easier to control the Weird around him, and he could even exert a slight influence over Shadow's body.
