A week had passed since Chi-Chi and Goku's wedding. Aside from those training with Ye Bai, everyone else had returned home.
After Goku's new house was set up at the foot of the mountain below his old home, the others also used Capsule Corporation capsules to temporarily place their own residences nearby.
Ye Bai had passed down the method of linked luck cultivation. During the first few days, he had also improved Tien Shinhan's Four Witches Technique into the Eight Witches Technique. The clones taught everyone how to sense ki and cultivate their battle instincts.
After teaching them the method, Ye Bai had pairs of people with similar strength assist one another in training. Meanwhile, Ye Bai himself was currently training in a gravity chamber created through a Dragon Ball wish, capable of reaching up to two thousand times gravity.
Inside the gravity chamber, two identical Ye Bais were fighting. Their speed, strength, and methods of attack were all the same, and neither could do anything to the other. The display showed that the gravity had reached five hundred times.
Ever since learning Tien Shinhan's Four Witches Technique, Ye Bai had discovered something interesting: his strength decreased according to the number of clones he created. Moreover, Ye Bai's greatest problem right now was the lack of an opponent, and this technique had perfectly solved that issue.
Not only had it solved that problem, but it had also improved his training efficiency. Saiyans could grow stronger through battle to begin with, and fighting inside a gravity chamber practically doubled the efficiency of his cultivation. Ye Bai had considered training as eight versions of himself, but the efficiency was actually worse than with two. With eight clones, their reactions became too sluggish, lowering the training efficiency instead.
Ye Bai withdrew his hands, panting heavily, and returned to a single body. He felt that the pressure in the gravity chamber was still somewhat lacking, but today's training was already over. Too much was as bad as too little.
Ye Bai shut down the gravity chamber, walked outside, and took a moment to sense everyone's training progress. They all appeared to be working very hard, but it was still a peaceful era—or rather, the pressure they carried was not great enough.
So, after gathering everyone together, Ye Bai told them that enemies would come to invade Earth in five years, and that they would be far stronger than they currently were.
Upon hearing this, everyone turned to look at him. Ye Bai understood what they meant and continued.
"Counting on me? That's not impossible, but it seems they have a boss behind them. At full strength, he's probably stronger than I am now by... one, two, three, four, five, six... oh, sixty times."
"I can't guarantee I'll be that strong by then. My training seems to have hit a bit of a bottleneck lately."
Ye Bai looked at the crowd before him, narrowed his eyes, and smiled. "If we can't beat them when the time comes, that's fine too. At least we'll all be together, so it won't be boring."
"Oh, right. I think I saw some scenes of the future. Yamcha and Krillin died, and Piccolo, it looked like your home planet was destroyed. Your people seemed to have all been killed too—your race was nearly wiped out." Ye Bai rubbed his chin as though trying to recall something.
"What?!" Krillin and Yamcha were horrified.
The others also looked grim. Only Piccolo's face turned green. Although he did not particularly care about some home planet or people he had never met, it still annoyed him greatly.
"If you don't want to die, work hard and train. I'm going to sleep. Bye-bye." Ye Bai greeted everyone, then vanished.
Ye Bai appeared beside a small stream on the mountain. There was a huge rock here, which was where he took his afternoon naps. These people really were worrying. Goku was better—beat him up a couple of times, and he would gain endless motivation to train desperately.
Five years later, a round spaceship fell from the sky like a meteor and crashed into the plains. Several white trails of ki came from the distance and landed around the spacecraft, looking down at the spaceship at the bottom of the crater.
"So this is the enemy Ye Bai talked about? What the heck? Why is he so weak?"
That was right. The ones who had come were Goku, Krillin, and the others. Krillin was the one who had spoken. He found it hard to believe that he would be killed by such a weakling.
The others were also a little dumbfounded. Tien Shinhan, however, said that if they still had the strength they possessed five years ago, they might really have been killed by the person before them.
Meanwhile, Raditz sat dumbly inside the spaceship, staring at the people surrounding him beyond the crater. He did not understand how things had turned out like this when he had only just landed and had not even done anything yet.
Raditz activated the scouter on his ear and swept it across the people above. He was stunned. Everyone in the circle had a displayed battle power of exactly one thousand, and after counting them, he found there were six of them.
"If there were only two, I could barely beat them. But there are six... Even though none of their battle powers are higher than mine, this will still be difficult." Cold sweat continuously formed on Raditz's forehead as he looked at the people surrounding him. Then, when he spotted Goku, his eyes lit up. He opened the hatch and stepped outside.
The crowd watched as the hatch of the round spaceship opened, and a tall, long-haired figure emerged. His ki was filled with killing intent and evil.
After watching him climb out of the crater, the others did not take him seriously, but they still raised their guard.
"So that's how it is. Even though you've grown up, I recognized you at a glance, Kakarot. You look exactly like our father." Raditz stepped out of the crater and looked at Goku as he spoke.
Everyone looked at Goku in confusion. Krillin asked, "Goku, what's going on? What is this guy talking about?"
Meanwhile, Ye Bai was at Goku's home, holding Gohan in his arms. He stroked Gohan's head and asked Chi-Chi, "Chi-Chi, are you really not going to let Gohan learn martial arts?"
"Yes. This is an age of rapid technological advancement. Learning martial arts won't lead to much achievement. I want him to study seriously and become a great scholar." Although Chi-Chi respected Ye Bai, she still answered honestly.
"Chi-Chi, you need to understand that Goku and I can't protect Gohan for his entire life. Look at how timid he is. In the future, he won't even have the ability to protect himself."
"If one day, we're all gone, would you really be at ease with Gohan being so timid and powerless? This world is vast, and there are many bad people in it."
"Chi-Chi, Gohan has tremendous potential. It shouldn't be buried. Even if he wants to become a great scholar, he shouldn't be completely powerless. Think it over. After all, his father is a powerful martial artist." Ye Bai patted Gohan's head, handed him back to Chi-Chi, and prepared to leave.
"Don't come any closer. I'll never join you." After hearing Raditz's words, Goku put some more distance between them.
"Awaken already, Kakarot. Happily, the Saiyan blood within you is boiling." Raditz advanced toward Goku step by step.
Just then, Ye Bai appeared between them and casually slapped Raditz to the ground.
After getting back up, Raditz stared at the figure before him. Catching sight of the tail behind Ye Bai, he asked in shock, "Who are you? Why do you have a tail unique to our Saiyan bloodline?"
"This is really troublesome. How should we deal with this guy, Goku?" Ye Bai ignored his question and spoke to Goku.
"How about using the Dragon Balls to get rid of the hostility in him and letting him stay on Earth? He is your big brother, after all. What do you think, Goku?" After thinking about it, Ye Bai felt that keeping this guy around would not be bad, though his violent aura was a little too heavy.
"Hey! Answer my question! And what gives you the right to decide whether I stay?" Raditz scanned Ye Bai's battle power with his device. Seeing that it was only 888, he immediately felt confident again.
"Krillin, this guy seems overly reliant on that device on his ear. Go teach him a lesson, and take the device to Bulma for research. Oh, and that spaceship too." Seeing Raditz become arrogant again, Ye Bai spoke to Krillin and then ignored him.
"What the heck? Why me?" Krillin complained, but still stepped forward.
"Take him farther away," Ye Bai added, no longer looking in that direction.
"Got it."
After replying, Krillin looked at Raditz, flashed forward, and sent him flying into the distance. Then he chased after him.
Ye Bai looked at Goku and continued, "So, Goku?"
"Xiaobai, you decide. But didn't you say he came to invade us? Why does he seem so weak?" Goku asked as he looked at Ye Bai.
"By your standards from five years ago, you weren't weak. And they still have two other Saiyans. The strongest one should be enough to give Krillin and the others a proper workout." After saying that, Ye Bai looked toward Yamcha and the others behind Goku.
Not long after Ye Bai had Yamcha and the others gather the Dragon Balls, Krillin returned, dragging along a bruised and battered Raditz. After waiting there for some time, all the Dragon Balls had been collected. Ye Bai looked at Raditz and felt that using the Dragon Balls on this man would be a waste.
"What is it, Xiaobai?" Goku could not help asking when he saw Ye Bai staring at Raditz in thought.
"Nothing. I just feel it'd be a waste to use the Dragon Balls on him. Let's just not use them for him. He can come back with us, and if he can't behave himself, we'll just kill him. I have another use for the Dragon Balls." Ye Bai turned and said to Goku.
"I see. That works too." Goku had no objection after hearing this. After all, he had no fondness for this older brother of his.
After hearing that Goku had no objections, Ye Bai summoned Shenron and wished to learn the Yardratians' Instant Transmission. Once the wish was fulfilled, Goku and the others took Raditz back to Bun Mountain, while Ye Bai took the battle device and spaceship and used Instant Transmission to go find Bulma.
In a corner of the universe, Vegeta and Nappa learned everything after receiving news from Earth. The two discussed going to Earth to find the Dragon Balls and rescue Raditz while they were at it. Nappa had originally been somewhat wary, but Vegeta was far too confident and did not take it to heart.
As two streaks of light shot into the sky, Vegeta and Nappa set off on their journey to Earth.
