Power Progression

Background and History

Kaguya was paired with Ōtsutsuki Isshiki to cultivate a God Tree, with Kaguya designated as the sacrifice to its Ten-Tails. She rejected that fate, took the Chakra Fruit without authorization, and turned against her clan. After merging with the God Tree, she pacified the chaotic age and became known as the Rabbit Goddess. Her sons, Hagoromo and Hamura, later sealed her within the moon 454 459 492 505.

The seal confined her body but failed to suppress her mind. She created Black Zetsu during the sealing and remained conscious in a mental world of her own making. Black Zetsu spent the following centuries trying to free her 409 457.

After Shingen established a connection to her, Kaguya briefly controlled Hanabi and fought him. Their later conversations concerned her pursuit of chakra, the threat posed by her clan, and Shingen’s refusal to accept Infinite Tsukuyomi. She began reconsidering her reliance on White Zetsu after he argued that trained people could develop abilities her creations could not 400 404 429 430.

Shingen reunited Kaguya with Black Zetsu and helped her return through its body. In that weakened form, she explored the modern world, visited Konoha, and fought Isshiki alongside Shingen. She subsequently recovered her original body from the moon 457 458 461 491 506. Later, she decided to leave the world with the moon and the Three-Tails to continue searching for nursery worlds 562.

Appearance

In her true form, Kaguya has exceptionally pale skin, long silver hair, horns, and a cold, regal bearing 403 429 457.

• Eyes — Byakugan, plus a crimson nine-tomoe Rinne Sharingan on her forehead after recovering her original body 506.
• Black Zetsu avatar — Can retract her horns and leave her forehead eye closed to pass more easily among humans 458.

Personality

Kaguya is proud, direct, and accustomed to measuring authority by strength. She initially dismisses ninjas as inferior to White Zetsu, yet exposure to the Ninja Academy makes her consider the value of human training and potential 429 463. She cherishes the land she cultivated, while remaining determined to regain power and pursue a higher form of life 458 495.

Her imprisonment and renewed contact with Shingen reveal a more curious side: she watches anime, enjoys Konoha’s food, and takes an interest in its inhabitants 413 455 461. She also comes to regard Black Zetsu as a devoted child rather than merely a creation. Her feelings toward Hagoromo and Hamura remain marked by love, anger, and resentment over their sealing of her 457 557 562.

The Chakra Fruit greatly enhanced Kaguya’s spiritual power. Even while sealed or using a diminished body, she retains exceptional perception and control 402 458.
