Background / History

Illya first appears by blocking Higashino Makoto's carriage on the road, carrying a suitcase labeled “Novas Aetir, Seventh Floor, Private Bedroom.” She arrives early after drawing the lot for the next rotation, insisting that she “came to find” Makoto because she missed him and did not want to wait for his return 115.

Her arrival immediately creates tension with Tokisaki Kurumi, whom she calls a “thief of affection.” Illya claims Makoto has been hers since Novas Aetir was founded, but Makoto clarifies that he belongs to himself and that, in reverse, all of the Guardians belong to him 115 116.
