Geography and Structure

Fish-Man Island lies at the seafloor in the Abyss of the Sea, where the roots of the Sunlight Tree Eve provide sunlight and create a habitable undersea environment for fish-men, merfolk, and visiting humans. It is enclosed by a large residential bubble and a smaller bubble containing Ryugu Palace. 147

The Sun Army first mobilized in force during Pirate Admiral Baroba’s assault, when nearly a thousand Fish-Man District warriors defended the island’s entrance alongside Jinbe, Aladdin, Arlong, and Hatchan. 164

History

Before the Sky Pirates’ arrival, Fish-Man Island faced growing disorder as powerful pirates and human traffickers entered its waters. Mermaid abductions became frequent, and both the royal forces and local fish-men struggled to contain the crisis. 147 148

Fisher Tiger returned to his homeland after years away, reuniting with Jinbe, Aladdin, and Arlong. His return coincided with the arrival of Ye Mu and the Sky Pirates, who intervened against traffickers and entered into a temporary security alliance with King Neptune and Queen Otohime. 147 151

The alliance introduced anti-trafficking laws, established police offices, and created the Sun Army from the residents of Fish-Man District. Tiger’s leadership and Ye Mu’s protection gave many residents their first sustained period of security from traffickers and predatory pirates. 151 153 155

Baroba’s Assault

Pirate Admiral Baroba attacked Fish-Man Island with thirty enormous warships, bombarding the outer bubble and threatening to destroy the immigration entrance. 163
