History

First voyage

Ye Mu and Enel introduced themselves as the God-Emperor Pirates while boarding a Marine warship. Enel killed the Celestial Dragon Donquixote Mjosgard, and Ye Mu announced their intention to steal the Heavenly Tribute. After Fisher Tiger joined them, Ye Mu explained that the name Sky Pirates came from his and Enel's Sky Island origins 20 24 27.

The Marines' first wanted posters listed Ye Mu at 540 million, Enel at 500 million, and Tiger at 380 million berries—a combined 1.42 billion berries. The posters spread the crew's name worldwide 29 30 34.

Grand Line and Fish-Man Island

The crew disrupted the Marines' operation at Roger's execution in Loguetown. Later, Ye Mu fought Douglas Bullet in a battle that destroyed an island; both survived, and Bullet was seen badly injured. By the next reported bounty update, Eric, Freya, Ayala, and Baby-5 also had wanted posters 45 73 81.

At Water 7, the Sky Pirates fought pirate hunters and other opponents on Scrap Island. Enel defeated Kuzan and awakened Conqueror's Haki during the conflict. At Sabaody, the crew seized hostages at the Human Auctioning House and broadcast revelations about the World Government and Navy's involvement in human trafficking 88 102 134 136.

On Fish-Man Island, the crew fought Baroba's fleet. King Neptune subsequently chose to support them against the World Government, and the Sky Pirates recruited nearly a thousand fish-men troops 168 170 173.

Expansion and war

The Marines formed a special force of 20,000 personnel and eight warships to eliminate the Sky Pirates. The crew nonetheless continued operating in the New World, then flew into the Marine G-1 Branch to announce that their conflict with the Navy would extend across the entire sea 213 246 247.

Ye Mu later infiltrated Impel Down with crew members using the Door-Door Fruit's separate space. Following Shiki's death, Dr. Indigo and Scarlet joined the Sky Pirates 262 327.

The organization expanded beyond its earlier small-crew approach: Enel, Tiger, and Eric formed three grand fleets and recruited forces. At Mary Geoise, Tiger arrived with the Sun Pirates to confront the Celestial Dragons' enslavement of fish-men 335 337 353. In the subsequent war against the Marines, all three fleets surfaced around the battlefield and joined the fighting 402 404.
