"Here, share some with your junior brothers!" Tian Buyi placed the teeth into the small bundle, tied it up, and handed it back to Song Daren. He continued, "There are only this many, not enough to serve as the main material for refining a magic treasure. They can only be used as supplementary materials, but they should increase a magic treasure's durability."
"Understood, Master!" Song Daren replied with a salute.
"All right, go." Tian Buyi rose and headed into the inner hall.
"Farewell, Master!" Song Daren bowed.
The next day, Song Daren did not keep anything for himself. He directly laid the thirty baby teeth he had found before his junior brothers and sister.
"Eldest Senior Brother, this..." The junior brothers felt rather awkward at Song Daren's actions. After all, they had previously been planning to snatch them together.
After spending so many years together, they had long understood one another's personalities. They were not worried that Song Daren would keep them all for himself, but they had still discussed getting the teeth by snatching them, merely as a bit of horseplay.
"There are thirty in total. Master has already examined them. If used as supplementary materials for refining magic treasures, they should increase the treasures' durability. Excluding Master and Shiniang, there are nine of us on Big Bamboo Peak. Three each, while Little Junior Brother gets six because the teeth are his. What do you think? Is this distribution all right?" Song Daren looked at his junior brothers and sister as he laid out the arrangement.
"Eldest Senior Brother, I already have a magic treasure, so I don't need any!" When Tian Linger had broken through to the fourth level of the Taiji Mystic Purity Dao, Su Ru had rewarded her with the magic treasure she had used in her youth, Amber Vermilion Silk. Tian Linger adored that treasure, so she had no need to refine another one.
"Let's divide them like this for now. If anyone needs them later and Junior Sister hasn't changed her mind, they can have hers. How about it? Do any of you have other ideas?" Song Daren asked as he looked around.
"E-Eldest Senior Brother! I... I get some too?" Zhang Xiaofan had not even mastered the first level of the Taiji Mystic Purity Dao yet. Magic treasures were far too distant a matter for him.
"Of course! How could we leave you out? We're all family. There's no reason you should get any less." Second Senior Brother Wu Dayi smiled as he rubbed Zhang Xiaofan's head.
"Still, what can just three of these do?" Sixth Senior Brother looked over the teeth he had received again and again, puzzled.
"I tried many methods, but I couldn't damage them in the slightest. Smelting them later will also be troublesome. Fortunately, none of you four are planning to go down the mountain to seek materials for refining magic treasures yet." Song Daren looked helplessly at the tiny teeth in his hand as he reminded them.
"They're that incredible?" Sixth Senior Brother looked as though Song Daren were joking. He glanced at him, then lowered his head to stare at the three small, smooth white baby teeth in his hand.
"I'll keep Little Junior Brother's for now and give them to him when he needs them." Song Daren looked at Luo Yunji, who was sprawled across the table with half-closed eyes, nearly asleep.
With Luo Yunji's absentminded temperament, even if they gave them to him, he would casually toss them somewhere and lose them.
Luo Yunji snored without the slightest reaction. Zhang Xiaofan, on the other hand, scratched his head somewhat embarrassedly, then carefully wrapped up his three baby teeth and tucked them away inside his clothes against his chest.
Just as everyone was immersed in their joy, a tyrannical force suddenly erupted from Luo Yunji without warning. It blasted the surrounding tables and chairs into the walls, where they shattered to pieces. The brothers all did their best to protect themselves and those beside them.
Zhang Xiaofan, who had barely any cultivation, still coughed up a mouthful of blood from the sudden eruption despite being protected by Wu Dayi and He Dazhi.
"Wah! What's going on?!" Sixth Senior Brother and Fifth Senior Brother shrieked as they darted outside together. The others followed close behind, almost at the same time.
Before they could even turn around, they heard a muffled crash. When they looked back, the main hall had collapsed, and none of the nearby buildings had been spared.
"What's going on? What are you all doing?!" The force had alerted Tian Buyi and Su Ru.
When the two appeared and saw the wide stretch of collapsed buildings, Tian Buyi's round face flushed bright red with anger, seeming to grow another size larger.
"It wasn't us! It was Little Junior Brother!" Apart from Song Daren, who was too embarrassed to state the reason, and Zhang Xiaofan, who had no idea what had happened, everyone else shouted in unison.
"What has that brat done now?!" Tian Buyi angrily flicked his sleeves as he looked at the utterly collapsed main hall and the large swath of ruined buildings around it.
"We don't know yet! Everything was fine while we were dividing the teeth. Little Junior Brother had been sleeping with his head on the table. Then, for some reason, a force suddenly erupted from him. Fortunately, we ran quickly, but even with Second Senior Brother and Fourth Senior Brother protecting him, Seventh Junior Brother was still injured!" Song Daren hurriedly reported the situation. "Hm?" Su Ru observed more carefully and sensed the energy still lingering within the ruins of the main hall. "He broke through!"
"What? He broke through again?!" Sixth Senior Brother's eyes widened as he stared at Su Ru in disbelief, hoping Shiniang would tell him this was merely a joke.
"Your Little Junior Brother broke through, yet you seem rather unhappy about it!" Tian Buyi checked with his senses and found that his youngest disciple truly was breaking through. He was equally shocked, but upon hearing his sixth disciple mutter, he narrowed his eyes and turned to look at him.
"Master, we're his senior brothers! Little Junior Brother seems to be only nine this year. He's such a freak—you should consider the feelings of us normal people too! Besides, we're supposed to be his senior brothers! The pressure is immense!" Sixth Senior Brother complained bitterly.
"That's right! Little Junior Brother is too much of a freak!" Third Senior Brother, who loved cultivation most, wore an envious expression.
"Exactly! Didn't we just say a while ago that he'd broken through to the fifth level? Why did he break through again today?" Fifth Senior Brother added gloomily.
"Pathetic!" Tian Buyi looked at his disciples' miserable faces with utter disdain.
"All right! I'll stand guard here. Go do whatever you need to do. Daren, go check on your Seventh Junior Brother's injuries. Don't let him develop any hidden ailments." Tian Buyi looked at the expressions of his disciples. Though he sympathized with them, there was nothing he could do. At the moment, he felt even greater joy over his youngest disciple's breakthrough. With a sweep of his hand, he sent them away at once, unwilling to look at them any longer.
"Yes, Master!" They obediently departed, leaving only Tian Buyi and Su Ru behind.
"I'll stay here. You should make a trip to Small Bamboo Peak instead. That brat is becoming less and less human." Tian Buyi looked at the ruins of the main hall and spoke to his wife beside him.
"Then I'll go. I'll return as quickly as I can!" Su Ru knew there was little use in staying here, so she headed straight for Small Bamboo Peak.
Fortunately, everyone discovered that Luo Yunji was completely unharmed within the ruins. Perhaps his luck was simply too good—the roof beam had somehow held up a small space above him.
