Background / History

Tian Buyi serves as Big Bamboo Peak’s stern but deeply invested peak master. He and his wife, Su Ru, oversee a household of disciples whose rapid growth, unusual cultivation methods, and repeated accidents leave him constantly arranging repairs, suppressing disasters, and defending the peak’s reputation 17 24 83.

When Luo Yunji reveals that he altered the Taiji Mystic Purity Dao because he considered its original form incomplete, Tian Buyi initially struggles to accept the challenge to sect tradition. He nevertheless accepts the modified method and permits his disciples to cultivate it, eventually recognizing its value 38 40.

As Big Bamboo Peak’s disciples travel down the mountain and acquire dangerous treasures, demonic techniques, and powerful allies, Tian Buyi and Su Ru leave Azure Cloud Mountain to find them. He conceals sensitive information from the sect, destroys a secret map after transcribing its cultivation method, and shares an upgraded Taiji method with Zeng Shuchang because he no longer considers the earlier version essential 191.
