"Bang."
The doors were kicked open, and Peroroncino stormed in, furious. He scanned the area, his bow already drawn taut, ready to attack without hesitation the moment he spotted a target.
He looked rather bedraggled. His once gleaming armor had been reduced to a single shoulder guard, while his shoes were badly worn and tattered.
Even the bow in his hand had lost its former luster, appearing dull and lifeless.
Yet despite the battered state of his entire body, the exquisite pair of earrings on his ears still glittered brilliantly, drawing the eye.
One could not help but guess that he had encountered countless hardships on his way back.
Clearly, he desperately wanted to shoot something into Mu Fengyu to vent the anger in his heart.
He carefully searched every corner of the base, yet failed to find even a single person, leaving him somewhat confused.
So, he thoroughly checked the entire base once more and confirmed there were no signs of intrusion.
The empty rooms were particularly desolate, with only a few bottles of buff drinks placed in the center of the hall.
Just as Peroroncino sat in a chair, deep in thought and questioning his life choices, the doors were suddenly pushed open.
He looked up to see Herohero slowly walking in with a friendly smile on his face. With a teasing note in his voice, he said,
"Peroroncino-san, I really didn't expect you to be back so soon. We thought you'd arrive a little later."
"Ah, what a shame. I even bet a [Data Crystal] on you. I thought if you came back an hour later, I'd have won double the returns."
Hearing Herohero's complaint, Peroroncino's eye twitched involuntarily. He grumbled to himself, These people have no conscience at all. I've done so much for the guild, and they're just sitting here enjoying my misery.
However, as Herohero went on about what everyone had bet, a wave of unease rose in Peroroncino's heart.
He hurriedly cut off Herohero's complaints and asked suspiciously,
"Who organized this bet? Don't tell me it was that guy Yu?"
"That's right, Yu organized it. And you four really were on the same wavelength. Looks like Momonga and the others are taking all the bets this time."
"Momonga and the others bet on when I'd return? The other two wouldn't happen to be Yu and Ulbert, would they?"
Herohero nodded and looked at Peroroncino with admiration. "That's right. They bet that you'd return to the base within ten minutes after the surveillance ended, and that your first sentence would definitely be to suspect Yu-san."
"Oh, right. Yu-san asked me to pass along a message."
Herohero suddenly remembered something and slapped his forehead before adding,
"He knew you'd look for him the moment you got back, but considering your current physical condition, you wouldn't be able to beat him and needed a good rest. So he asked Bukubukuchagama to take away your manga. No need to thank him."
Upon hearing this, Peroroncino felt as though he had suffered severe internal injuries. His newly bought game card was hidden in there, too.
He took a deep breath, trying his best to calm his emotions, then changed the subject.
"By the way, where did everyone else go?"
"Oh, they should be back soon. While Storm Horn was hunting you down, they went straight to raid the enemy's base. By my reckoning, they should be about back."
Time rewound to when Mu Fengyu had just teleported back.
Everyone in the hall was watching the world channel as Storm Horn Guild loudly declared that they would kill Nine's Own Goal until they quit the game. Some of the more hot-tempered companions immediately wanted to head out and cut down a few people trying to claim the bounty for fun.
At that moment, Mu Fengyu hurried in. Seeing that everyone was present, he told them about the idea he had come up with on his way back.
"They've made such a big fuss, so we can't let them waste their effort. How about we just help them disband their guild?"
"Aren't they searching the whole world for us right now? We'll cash in the resources we stole first, then quietly infiltrate their base. Don't we still have a World Item?"
"At a time like this, stop hiding it. Take it out, and let's give them something spectacular."
Beast King Mekong immediately voiced his agreement.
"I've been sick of those bastards for ages. We should go beat the hell out of them."
"A World Item could indeed end the battle quickly, but how can we infiltrate the core of their base without anyone noticing?"
"I think we should be more conservative. We should lie low for now and wait for the right opportunity to take revenge."
Touch Me felt that Mu Fengyu's plan was too bold. A mistake in execution could easily result in losing the World Item.
Watching Touch Me always hesitate and worry about every possibility, Ulbert gave a disdainful laugh and retorted,
"If we keep defending all the time, when will we ever get our revenge? Most of them have gone after Peroroncino-san this time. This is obviously such a perfect opportunity."
"Ulbert, I'm not saying we should give up on revenge. I just think we should be more cautious."
"The World Item is one of our guild's most important assets. If we lose it, the consequences would be unimaginable."
"Hmph, cautious? Can being cautious make them disband their guild?"
The two continued arguing endlessly, each trying to convince the other. Ulbert sneered disdainfully.
"Yu's plan may be bold, but I think it's feasible. We can take advantage of them pursuing Peroroncino-san to quietly infiltrate their base, then use the World Item to catch them off guard."
"But how can we ensure that we reach the core of their base without being discovered?"
Someone raised the concern, and Mu Fengyu immediately raised his hand to answer.
"When I left their base last time, I left a few little things inside that can ensure we won't be noticed while we're in there."
"As for the outside, we can send out a small team first to scout their base and learn its layout and defenses. Then we can formulate a detailed infiltration plan based on the scouting results."
"That's a good idea."
Beast King Mekong nodded in agreement. Genjiro and Nishikienrai stepped forward and said confidently,
"Let us handle the scouting mission. After all, we have quite a bit of experience with infiltration and investigation."
"Good. Then you'll be in charge of scouting."
Ulbert nodded, then turned toward Mu Fengyu.
"Yu, you'll be responsible for devising the infiltration plan and handling the specific use of the World Item."
Mu Fengyu agreed with complete confidence.
"No problem. We'll definitely be able to infiltrate their base successfully and catch them off guard."
"But before that, take a look at this plan for cashing in the resources we stole."
With that, Mu Fengyu handed out documents to everyone. Looking over the materials in their hands, the group fell into contemplation.
