Huai Jin is a native of Northern Province whose cultivation family once produced a Void Insight Realm ancestor. The family's fortunes declined afterward, leaving him without the backing enjoyed by the great clans within the Myriad Clouds Sect. He traveled widely in part to temper his state of mind, but also because he was dissatisfied with the sect's treatment of Northern Province and could not find a way to change it from within. 782
