Background / History
Spirit Hall operates branches that awaken martial souls for commoners. In Yellow Fish Village, its deacon Wang Hegui conducts the local awakening ceremony, where he discovers Yang Jian's twin martial souls and innate full soul power. Wang immediately recruits him, promising focused training and support for Yang Jian's family. 1 2 3
At this time, Bibi Dong is the Pope, but her authority is limited by Qian Daoliu and the power held by the Elder Hall and Consecration Hall. Bibi Dong seeks to consolidate control under the Papal Hall, cultivate loyal successors, and ultimately remove the Qian family's influence. 6
Spirit Hall brings Yang Jian to Spirit City, where Bibi Dong accepts him as a registered disciple and assigns Yue Guan to oversee his foundational cultivation. Its resources—including elite meditation methods, the Book Repository, training grounds, medicinal baths, and protection by Titled Douluo—enable Yang Jian's rapid development. 8 9 10 13 70
Following Yan's leak of intelligence regarding Yang Jian to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, the organization faces an internal betrayal. Yang Jian executes Yan and publicly displays his head at Spirit City's gates; Bibi Dong subsequently agrees to investigate the matter. 36 74
Yang Jian later exposes severe corruption at the Gengxin City branch under Bishop Miles. He removes Miles, invites citizens to identify guilty officials, carries out punishments, and installs new management. The Blacksmith Association subsequently joins Spirit Hall while retaining its name, internal structure, and autonomy. 108 111 112 113
Qian Daoliu eventually defeats and imprisons Bibi Dong, temporarily taking control of Spirit Hall. Yang Jian then takes the Papal throne with the backing of Yue Guan and Gui Mei, subduing or imprisoning senior officials who oppose him. 163 180 181
Under Yang Jian's leadership, Spirit Hall declares war on the Star Luo Empire over its human-experimentation crimes. It defeats the empire, abolishes noble privileges, seizes most aristocratic assets for reconstruction, disbands private armies, and imposes regulations against the oppression of commoners. 182 185 189
The Heaven Dou Empire later formally submits to Spirit Hall. With both empires under its authority, Spirit Hall becomes the continent's sole ruling power and implements policies including tax reductions, resettlement of displaced citizens, and intensified action against the Fallen. 245 246
