Dun Morogh was a highland. Its favorable terrain kept the land blanketed in ice and snow. Besides being home to Dwarves and Gnomes, it was inhabited by another race as well: the Frostmane Tribe, a branch of the Frost Trolls.
However, the Dwarves of Ironforge and the Gnomes of Gnomeregan were simply too powerful. The Frost Trolls of the Frostmane Tribe had long been confined to the valleys in southwestern Dun Morogh.
Perhaps influenced over time by the Dwarves and Gnomes of Dun Morogh, the Frost Trolls of the Frostmane Tribe were far shorter than the Drakkari Trolls.
"Ah, my kin. I never imagined you lived such miserable lives, crushed so thoroughly by those puny Dwarves and Gnomes that you can't even lift your heads. It truly breaks my heart." Rend's newest little admirer, Drakuru, led the Drakkari Troll force following him to the Frostmane Tribe's settlement. The moment he arrived, he made no effort to hide the contempt on his face. The Drakkari Trolls were, after all, a dominant force in Northrend, having established the powerful Drakkari Empire. These Frostmane Trolls were utterly beneath notice. After observing and assessing them, Drakuru concluded that the Frostmane Tribe had fewer than a hundred thousand members.
When the Frost Trolls of the Frostmane Tribe saw the Drakkari Trolls from Zul'Drak, who were taller and stronger than themselves, they immediately lowered their heads and did not dare offer any resistance.
In the center of the Frostmane Tribe's village, a bonfire for gathering had been lit. Normally, it was only lit for major ceremonies or military operations.
Fully armed Drakkari Trolls clustered around Drakuru, enhancing his intimidating presence.
