Ashbringer and Frostmourne

Highlord Tirion Fordring led the Ashen Verdict and had already opened a passage into Icecrown Glacier.

Although they had chosen the most fragile part of the mountain, directly across from the passage the Ashen Verdict had opened stood the Scourge's military stronghold—Scourge City.

A massive number of Scourge troops had gathered there. One important reason Dranosh's Kor'kron Vanguard had been able to conquer the Empire of Azjol-Nerub was that Lich King Arthas had deployed the Nerubian main force and several lords.

Scourge City had four lords: Talonox, the new Scourge Nerubian King appointed by Lich King Arthas after Anub'arak's death; High Priest Yasarmon; the Vrykul warrior Ripper Saranax; and the Vrykul warrior Deathbringer Halof.

During this time, the undead of Scourge City launched a fierce assault on the Argent Vanguard in coordination with Frost Dragons. However, Blackfuse Company's siege master, Fizz, had prepared a large quantity of high explosives for the Argent Vanguard beforehand.

The Silver Hand, primarily composed of paladins, and the Scarlet Crusade paladins displayed extraordinary resilience, stubbornly holding back the ferocious assault of over a hundred thousand elite undead from Scourge City.

Then the Goblin engineers took control of the gun emplacements and unleashed devastating artillery fire without restraint. They did not even need to aim; as long as they fired far enough, a single shell could wipe out swathes of undead.

After the Frost Dragons appeared, Blue Dragon prince Arygos led the Blue Dragonflight and their servant dragons—Nether Dragons and Proto-Drakes—in an attack against them.

The Ashen Verdict's greatest weakness was its air force. After all, the core forces of the Silver Hand and Scarlet Crusade were all Highlords. They could ride horses well enough, but they were merely average when mounted on flying creatures.
