Background / History

Adoption of Clark and Eric

Sixteen years before the story's high-school period, Jonathan and Martha found Clark and Eric near a spacecraft and raised them as brothers. Because Eric had been inside the craft while Clark had been outside it, they concluded Eric had been protected by Clark and therefore named Eric the younger son. 2
