Zheng Shaoyu rubbed his aching head and listened to the noisy voices around him, trying to figure out what had happened.

He seemed to have just been... on his way back from tutoring... when a huge truck hit him?

Zheng Shaoyu looked at the children still crying around him and began to understand what was going on.

As a man who'd read countless novels, Zheng Yu was quite familiar with this sort of situation.

He told the children to leave, then tried to calm down.

Little by little, the original owner's memories surfaced.

"This is... the world of Naruto?"

According to the memories, the original owner was called Uchiha Shaoyu. He was eighteen years old, an elite jonin of the Uchiha Clan, and the owner of a Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

Among Uchiha ninja of his generation, even Uchiha Fugaku, the current clan leader's son, was no match for him.

Although their branch had fallen into decline, it had a long history within the Uchiha Clan. Now that a genius like Uchiha Shaoyu had emerged, it seemed to be showing signs of a resurgence.

The most famous figure from his branch was Kagami Uchiha, who had once served as a guard to the Second.

That's right, Kagami Uchiha was Uchiha Shaoyu's grandfather. In other words, the genius boy Uchiha Shisui from the original story was Uchiha Shaoyu's younger brother.

The boy who had just been crying beside Uchiha Shaoyu was none other than Uchiha Shisui, the future wielder of the god-tier technique Kotoamatsukami.

As a descendant of Kagami Uchiha, he had been a close friend of Itachi Uchiha when they were young.

He had inherited the "Will of Fire" passed down from the First and Kagami Uchiha, and had risen above narrow-minded clan loyalty.

Though at this point, he probably didn't know Itachi yet.

He excelled at genjutsu and the Body Flicker Technique, and had an even greater talent for ocular jutsu than Itachi. He was known as the "strongest genjutsu ninja" and "Body Flicker Shisui."

His Mangekyō Sharingan was absurdly powerful. It gave him access to the strongest genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami, which could alter a target's will without them noticing. He could even activate Susanoo with just one eye.

However...

It was currently the thirty-eighth year of Konoha.

The Second Shinobi World War was underway.

The war had only begun recently, and none of the major events from the memories had happened yet. The Sannin hadn't faced Hanzo the Salamander, and the Third Raikage hadn't died in battle...

Shisui was still young, around six or seven years old, and an adorable little boy.

As for anything major that had happened recently...

Did what happened two days ago count? White Fang of Konoha, Hatake Sakumo, had killed the Sunagakure advisor, Chiyo's son and daughter-in-law.

Those were Chiyo's son and daughter-in-law. Chiyo's influence in Sunagakure was no less than Danzo's in Konoha. After this incident, Sunagakure and Konoha were practically locked in a fight to the death.

Speaking of Danzo, another memory surfaced in Uchiha Shaoyu's mind.

The reason this body had died and let Zheng Shaoyu take over was entirely Danzo's fault.

The title of "Konoha's King of Shinobi" was well deserved.

During the Second Shinobi World War, Uchiha Shaoyu, as an elite jonin of the Uchiha Clan, had no chance of avoiding the battlefield. Uchiha ninja were practically all-around fighters, and they played a crucial role on the battlefield.

On top of that, his Sharingan made Uchiha Shaoyu considerably stronger than other elite jonin. Konoha wasn't about to let such a powerful fighter go to waste.

And so Uchiha Shaoyu was sent to the battlefield.

Given Uchiha Shaoyu's strength, even if he couldn't win a fight on the battlefield, escaping should have been easy.

But then there was Danzo.

That old bastard, for some reason, sent Uchiha Shaoyu and three other Uchiha jonin to hunt down a single person.

The One-Tail Jinchuriki, Bunpuku.

Bunpuku was an old monk from Sunagakure. When he was young, during the Second Kazekage's era, Shukaku had been sealed inside him.

He had spent his whole life imprisoned, and people had even forgotten his real name, calling him by the name of the Tailed Beast inside him: "Shukaku."

Bunpuku was also the first Jinchuriki to earn Shukaku's recognition, and his character was much like that of the Sage of Six Paths.

After living with Shukaku for a long time, he became a Perfect Jinchuriki and could use the One-Tail Shukaku's power at will. But he had no desire to use Shukaku's power, and spent a long time in prison before eventually dying of old age.

Sending Uchiha Shaoyu to take on an opponent of that caliber was basically sending him to his death.

Bunpuku might have seemed frail, but as a nearly Perfect Jinchuriki, there was no doubt he was a Kage Level fighter. The original owner was powerful—an elite jonin with the boost of a Three-Tomoe Sharingan, he could be called invincible beneath Kage Level. But against a Perfect Jinchuriki who couldn't be controlled by genjutsu, he had no real chance of winning.

But the original owner was an idiot too.

The whole matter had nearly been dropped. The current Uchiha Clan leader was a conservative, but he wasn't as timid as that later fool, Uchiha Fugaku.

When faced with Danzo's impossible mission, he had flat-out refused.

But Danzo, that old bastard, saw that the original owner and the three Uchiha jonin were young, and tried to provoke them. He said that the mighty Uchiha Clan was afraid of an old monk who was about to die.

How could the original owner and his three Uchiha brothers put up with that?

Damn, he actually looked down on the Uchiha Clan!

Ignoring the objections of the clan leader, Uchiha Tiandao, the original owner took his three brothers and set out to assassinate Bunpuku.

But given the Uchiha Clan's brains, that wasn't surprising.

The outcome was predictable. Bunpuku wasn't much of a butcher, but when people attacked him, how could he not fight back?

In the end, only Uchiha Shaoyu remained of the four-man team.

After going through the memories up to that point, Uchiha Shaoyu rubbed his head helplessly.

He couldn't believe there had been such an idiot in the world.

But to be fair, the original owner had been very strong.

As an elite jonin of the Uchiha Clan, his ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu had all been at the highest level below Kage Level. He had even brushed against the threshold of Kage Level, and with the boost of his Three-Tomoe Sharingan, he could even take on an ordinary Kage-level fighter.

If Bunpuku hadn't been a Perfect Jinchuriki, the four of them might actually have succeeded.

Even so, Bunpuku had been seriously injured. There was no way he'd be able to take part in the war against Konoha anytime soon.

But even that had its downside.

For some reason, ever since Uchiha Shaoyu had returned badly wounded, a rumor had suddenly started spreading through the village.

Uchiha Shaoyu of the Uchiha Clan had actually been strong enough to kill the One-Tail Jinchuriki. But in truth, he was a Sunagakure spy in Konoha, and had deliberately spared the Jinchuriki.

Uchiha Shaoyu: Strong enough to kill the One-Tail Jinchuriki? Me?

Even though he knew it was just a rumor, Uchiha Shaoyu's injuries were so severe that he had no way to explain himself. And because he'd ignored the clan leader's advice and insisted on assassinating the One-Tail Jinchuriki, the clan leader already disliked him and didn't help him.

And so the original owner had died from a combination of physical and emotional wounds.

That was what gave Zheng Shaoyu the chance to transmigrate.

As for the rumor, Uchiha Shaoyu didn't need to guess who had started it.

Uchiha Shaoyu decided that when he killed Danzo in the future, he'd go easy on him. It was only fair to repay Danzo for making room for him.
