S-Rank Mission

"Lord Jin, Lord Naruto urgently summons you to the conference room for a meeting," an ANBU operative said as he approached Jin.

Jin looked at the man in surprise. Once he confirmed that he was indeed from ANBU, he said, "Understood. Go report back."

"White, you all go home and wait for me first. If I'm not back by this afternoon, don't go to school. Stay home and wait for me. I have a feeling something has happened," Jin explained to them.

By the time Jin arrived at Konoha's conference room, it was already packed. Once Jin had taken his seat, the Third Naruto said helplessly, "An envoy from the Land of Lightning was ambushed within the Land of Fire. I believe a war is now inevitable. Everyone knows that Konoha's strength is nowhere near what it was after the last ninja war. We need time to develop peacefully. But if the Land of Lightning invades, we must resist with all our strength. What good strategies do you all have?"

The conference room immediately erupted into discussion, with all sorts of suggestions being thrown out. Jin found it unbearably irritating. He slapped the table and said, "Can everyone quiet down and listen to Lord Third Naruto's plan first? Then we can discuss it."

Everyone thought, That's right! They all turned to look at the Third Naruto.

The Third Naruto was delighted inside, though his expression remained unchanged. "A man lives for his pride! This is how it began." He recounted the events, then looked at everyone's expressions. Satisfied by their indignation, he continued, "Once the daimyo of the Land of Lightning learns that their envoy died within our Land of Fire, he will certainly believe that we intend to declare war on them. Therefore, I expect a war between our two nations. I plan to first send people to the border between the two countries to gather intelligence on the Land of Lightning, while informing the daimyo of what happened. If the Land of Lightning truly intends to start a war, then Konoha will participate. However, Uchiha Jin will be the main attacker. I believe everyone has already received the scrolls Jin sent out. As for the defenders, they will be Konoha's ninja. We will send Special Jonin to protect the daimyo."

The room began discussing again. Jin's eyes lit up as he prayed nonstop, Start the war, start the war. Hurry up and fight! I've never even been in a war before! Why didn't I think of wiping out the Land of Lightning's ninja and provoking a war?

Uchiha Fuchiu stood and said, "I object! Jin is still only a child. He doesn't have that capability yet!"

Hiashi Hyuga agreed, "That's right! Unless we can persuade that mysterious old man to carry out this reconnaissance mission and the later offensive missions. When that old man carries out assassinations, he is absolutely impossible to guard against!"

"Jin, due to the special circumstances of this matter, I will directly approve your graduation from the ninja academy. Now, I am assigning you an S-rank mission. Go to the Land of Lightning and investigate the enemy's movements. Report immediately if you obtain any major intelligence. The mission duration is provisionally set at one year. You may decide the personnel for this mission yourself and submit the list to me. If you have any issues, raise them now," the Third Naruto said as he looked at Jin.

"White, Kimimaro, Hinata, and Yakumo Kurama will come with me! Please approve their graduation as well. Of course, I know about Yakumo Kurama's situation, but I'll handle it properly, so please rest assured. Oh, and I'll also need operational funds," Jin said.

"Fine, I agree to all your requests! Go back and make preparations. You'll depart tomorrow," the Third Naruto said, looking at Jin.

"I hope everyone will keep this matter confidential. Otherwise, if something happens to me, Konoha will suffer considerable losses," Jin said. He did not specify exactly what Konoha would lose, merely giving those people a subtle warning. If anything happened to him, then once he returned, anyone present who had leaked the secret would face severe retaliation, perhaps even death.

Terrifying. Every one of the Uchiha Clan brats is more terrifying than the last! Should I really hand the position of Naruto over to him? It seems I'll need to observe him longer, the Third Naruto thought.

Both Uchiha Fuchiu and Hiashi Hyuga saw the worry in each other's eyes. Jin glanced at them and merely smiled, giving them a reassuring look.

The meeting ended, and everyone left.

Jin collected one million in operational funds from the Naruto. He did not actually need the money, but who would ever complain about having too much money? (If you do, give me some!)

With six Konoha ninja forehead protectors tucked into his clothes, Jin walked home, laughing wildly in his heart. Konoha's little powerhouses, big brother is heading out to have fun. You can stay in Konoha and train yourselves silly.

When Jin returned home, he saw White and the other two waiting at the entrance. He smiled faintly. "Haha, we finally have something to do. Come on, one for each of you. We've graduated early." The three were confused. After taking the forehead protectors, they looked at Jin, waiting for an explanation. Jin tied his own forehead protector around his forehead, then gestured for them to put theirs on. White also tied hers around her forehead. Hinata looked at hers and was about to put it on her head when Jin grabbed it and whispered into her ear, "It'll look better around your neck." Hinata smiled shyly, her face flushing. Kimimaro looked at the forehead protector, then at his body, then at Jin. Jin said, "You should tie it around your right leg, above the knee. It won't affect your cool image that way." Kimimaro did as instructed.

Jin looked at the three of them and said, "An envoy from the Land of Lightning was killed inside our country. War may break out very soon. The Third Naruto has sent us out to carry out this reconnaissance mission. It's an S-rank mission, provisionally set for one year. The personnel are me, White, Kimimaro, Hinata, Yakumo Kurama, and one more companion. We'll go find that partner after we set off tomorrow. Now, let's eat immediately, then go find Yakumo Kurama." Jin had been summoned by the Third Naruto after school at noon without even eating. If he had known that meetings in Naruto were this long, he would have stuffed himself beforehand.
