Background / History

Jin searches for White in the Land of Water because he fears that Momochi Zabuza may reach her first. He ultimately meets her as Mizunotsuki Haku, and she becomes his traveling companion after his confrontations with Zabuza and Kurosuki Raiga. Jin protects her while also urging her to fight for herself; White responds with affection and a determination to protect him in return. 12 14

During their travels with Kimimaro, White treats the rescued Lan Huizi and her child while Jin brings the group toward Konoha. 18 19 At one point, White becomes distressed by the belief that she exists only as Jin's tool. Jin calms her, but the incident establishes the intensity of her attachment and dependence on him. 16

After Jin establishes his branch family, White is assigned to supervise twenty orphaned girls in the new clan's training program. She also observes Jin's Sharingan transplants for ten boys, learning from the procedure. 36

Personality

White is deeply loyal to Jin and remains physically and emotionally close to him even after growing older. She supports his plans, worries about their finances and future, and treats their continued companionship as a given. 135

She is protective of her teammates, particularly Kimimaro. During the battle with Kakuzu, concern for Kimimaro leads her to expend excessive chakra on a barrage of Ice Senbon. 68 Though generally obedient and trusting toward Jin, she reacts with surprise and confusion when confronted with a male look-alike who may be connected to her past. 166

White possesses an ice-based Kekkei Genkai that she can apply both practically and in combat.
