Background / History

Naruto grew up ostracized by Konoha because the Nine-Tails was sealed inside him. Villagers avoided him and called him a monster, though he remained determined to become Hokage. He later learns that the Fourth Hokage was his father and had sealed the Nine-Tails within him to protect the village. 42

As an Academy student, Naruto knew Uchiha Yi and Sasuke. He and Yi were both orphans, occasionally shared ramen, and later became desk mates who slept through class together. 1 4 Naruto initially struggled with the Clone Technique because the Nine-Tails disrupted his chakra control, causing him to fail his first graduation attempt. 6
