Background / History

Huo Yuhao fled the White Tiger Duke’s Estate after his mother’s death. He vowed to return, destroy the estate, and force the White Tiger Duke to atone at her grave. From that day onward, he adopted his mother’s surname, Huo. 6

While seeking his first soul ring in the Star Dou Great Forest, Huo was nearly killed by a ten-year Wind Baboon. Yao Shi intervened, restrained the beast, and had Huo deliver the killing blow with his dagger. Unable to pay Yao Shi’s requested one gold soul coin, Huo became indebted to him. 7 8

Skydream Iceworm subsequently chose Huo as its host after failing to enter Yao Shi’s Sea of Spirits. A fragment of Electrolux’s soul entered Huo at the same time; despite their initial conflict, both ultimately settled within him. Huo gained Skydream as his first, million-year intelligent soul ring but concealed this fact from Yao Shi. 8 9

After Huo admitted he had nowhere to go, Yao Shi offered to look after him. Huo accepted him as an elder brother and pledged his loyalty. Yao Shi then used Longevity Blessing to improve Huo’s aptitude and raise his soul power from level 11 to 19. 9 10

Huo declined Tang Ya’s invitation to join the Tang Sect and enrolled at Shrek Academy independently with Yao Shi. Following Yao Shi’s advice, he entered the Soul Guidance Department rather than the Martial Soul Department. 10 11

After Yao Shi advised him to eventually pursue his talent at the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy, Huo set out for the Sun Moon Empire. On the journey, members of the Body Sect took him to their sect after discovering that his martial soul was his eyes. Du Busi accepted Huo as his final disciple, making him Long Aotian’s junior disciple. 27 73

Huo gradually came to value his life in the Body Sect, where his strength improved rapidly. Under Du Busi’s instruction, he completed the Black Iron-level awakening of his Spirit Eyes. 73

When Tang San apparently annihilated Yao Shi, Huo suffered violent backlash and overwhelming grief. Although he initially believed his elder brother dead, Electrolux noted that Yao Shi’s mark remained within Huo and concluded that Yao Shi was likely still alive in an abnormal state. 73 74

Personality

Huo is determined and revenge-driven, but his resolve is tempered by humility. Even after his aptitude was dramatically improved, he stressed that advancement requires diligence and that he would work himself to the bone rather than rely solely on good fortune. 10

He is initially inexperienced and frightened in combat, as shown by his first encounter with the Wind Baboon, yet he does not abandon his goal of becoming stronger. 7 8 He is deeply loyal to Yao Shi, readily calls him “Brother Yao,” and becomes increasingly admiring of his guidance. 9 21

Yao Shi’s apparent death intensifies Huo’s desire for strength into a determination to avenge him against Tang San. He asks Electrolux to teach him necromancy and declares his intent to slay gods if necessary. 73 74
