• Nine Tripod Iron Fork Mountain and West Kunlun — Shi Mo's earliest territory; the region contains rich earth-vein power, earthfire, spiritual herbs, immortal realms, and a naturally efficient earth-vein network 2 4.
• Thirty-Three Heavens and Primordial Starry Sky — The celestial domain above the world, later linked to Nebula Cities and the Heavenly Stellar Formation 105 134.
• Netherworld and Nether Blood Sea — The destination of the dead and the site of the Six Paths of Reincarnation; the Blood Sea absorbs and refines baleful, violent energies produced across the world 108 117.
• World membrane — The outer boundary beyond which the earth-vein network extends to draw in chaos energy 97. Shi Mo later returns through this membrane after traveling beyond the world 236.

History

Shi Mo arrives in the Primordial World as a newly awakened consciousness sealed within a stone pillar. Even before taking human form, he recognizes it as a realm populated by formidable cultivators and begins relying on its earth-vein energy to refine his jade body 1.

His early work at Nine Tripod Iron Fork Mountain reveals that the world's earth veins can be connected, reorganized, and used as an effectively inexhaustible foundation for formations. Over twenty thousand years, Shi Mo and Houtu sort and strengthen the Primordial Continent's earth-vein network, while Nebula Daoist places Eight Treasures Cloud Light Pavilions and formation foundations throughout it 2 76.

The completed Earth Vein Formation becomes a world-scale system. It covers the continent, reaches the Four Seas, redistributes spiritual qi, and later draws chaos energy through the world membrane to replenish the world's energy reserves 81 85 97.

The world repeatedly suffers collateral damage from the conflicts of its major factions. The Wu and Monster Clans' renewed war destabilizes heavenly secrets and fills heaven and earth with killing intent and baleful aura 117. During the later battle involving Pangu's summoned energy body, Saints must act to prevent the world's destruction 122.

When floods threaten the Primordial Continent, Red Lotus Daoist activates the Earth Vein Formation to shield living beings and channel the waters into rivers and seas 124. In the Investiture era, even the formation's production of spiritual materials becomes entangled in the calamity's fighting and karmic burden 175.

By the time Shi Mo returns after countless years spent elsewhere, the Primordial World has passed the Journey to the West tribulation. Cultivation has flourished and the population of cultivators has grown, though the Saints have departed and the people Shi Mo knew have changed 236.

World Systems

Earth-Vein Network

The earth veins form a vast underground network that gathers, distributes, and transforms energy across the world.

• The network beneath Nine Tripod Iron Fork Mountain can gather earth-vein energy for cultivation and offense 2.
• At its deeper core, earth veins extend beyond the world membrane and continuously draw in chaos energy 97.
• The Earth Vein Formation converts incoming chaos energy into varied energies, including Five Elements energy, replenishing the world's consumed spiritual energy 85 97.
• Shi Mo considers the formation the foundation for a future “World Formation” capable of mobilizing the whole world's power, though this remains an ambition rather than a completed result 79 105.

Stellar Infrastructure

Nebula Daoist establishes Nebula Cities across the continent and seas to gather stellar power, water-vein power, and earth-vein spiritual energy.

• The cities are protected cultivation grounds built around Eight Treasures Cloud Light Pavilions and formation foundations 134.
• Heavenly soldiers are stationed in each city, though those within Nebula Cities answer to Nebula Palace rather than directly to Haotian 134.
• Their construction is intended to complete a world-spanning Heavenly Stellar Formation and eventually integrate it with the Earth Vein Formation 134 177.

Six Paths of Reincarnation

The Netherworld's reincarnation system gives souls from across the Primordial World a route after death.

• Houtu establishes the Six Paths by transforming herself into primordial spirit and entering the Netherworld 108.
• Souls are reborn through the six paths, assisted by ghost cultivators and later supported by the construction of Fengdu City and its halls 108 109.
• The system is later rebuilt by Shi Mo and Nuwa after a conflict in the Three Realms destroys it 209.

Major Disruptions

• Wu–Monster War — The end of the one-yuanhui truce triggers a full-scale conflict that throws heavenly secrets into chaos and threatens the world's stability 117.
• Pangu's Manifestation — The Wu Clan's Twelve Heavenly Gods and Demons Grand Formation summons Pangu's energy body; its clash with the Chaos Bell inflicts enormous damage until Saints intervene 122.
• Primordial Flooding — Weak Water falls onto the continent as heaven and earth tilt, threatening to drown weaker lifeforms before the Earth Vein Formation redirects it 124.
