Background / History
Heavenly Court and the Heavenly Stellar Formation
The Monster Clan was ruled from the Heavenly Court by Demon Emperor Di Jun, with Donghuang Taiyi, Kunpeng, Bai Ze, and the Ten Great Monster Sages among its foremost powers. 25 37 63
After Shi Mo created the Heavenly Stellar Formation, Di Jun destroyed its initial version and sought to uncover its secrets. The clan later sent Bai Ze to negotiate for the formation rather than continue a direct confrontation. 18 24
Shi Mo ultimately helped establish a formation restriction in the Heavenly Court that contained the mysteries of the Heavenly Stellar Formation. In exchange, the Monster Clan provided innate spiritual treasures and extensive spiritual materials, though Di Jun and his allies privately intended to dispose of Shi Mo once his work was complete. 25 26 27
The completed restriction took ten thousand years to establish and greatly increased stellar-power concentration in the Heavenly Court. 27
Expansion and Rivalries
The Monster Clan attacked the Dragon Clan in the East Sea under Di Jun and Bai Ze. Its army, hardened by repeated clashes with the Wu Clan, overwhelmed the largely inexperienced aquatic forces of the Dragon Clan. 63
Di Jun later used the Heavenly Stellar Formation in the Wu-Monster conflict, strengthening the Monster Clan through the power of the stars. 75
The clan's fortune rose sharply after Di Jun married Xihe and Changxi. Donghuang Taiyi and Kunpeng each severed a second corpse, Bai Ze became a Quasi-Sage after severing a corpse, and Di Jun severed all three corpses. Fuxi subsequently joined the clan as Sovereign Xi. 85
Persecution of the Human Clan
As the Human Clan multiplied, some monsters discovered that consuming human flesh and blood accelerated cultivation. Monster Clan members consequently began attacking human settlements across the Qingqiu Plains. 100
Di Jun ordered covert, repeated massacres by ordinary Monster Clan members. His goal was to gather Human Clan blood essence and souls to forge a Witch-Slaying Divine Weapon for the eventual war against the Wu Clan. 101 105 109 112
The campaign provoked open war with the Human Clan. Under Bai Ze's command, the Monster Clan army descended from the Ninth Heaven, formed a stellar formation, and attempted to cripple the Human Clan's strength. 112 113
The Human Clan's resistance, support from Shi Mo's disciples, and the arrival of Mara's Asura forces prevented a swift victory. 113 114
Wu-Monster Final War and Decline
Following the expiration of their one-yuanhui truce, the Wu and Monster Clans launched simultaneous full-scale offensives. The conflict destabilized the Primordial World and produced widespread blood rain, baleful aura, and casualties. 117
The Monster Clan relied on stellar formation banners to draw down star power and reinforce its armies. Di Jun also combined the Heavenly Stellar Formation, the Chaos Bell, and the mana of the Monster Clan army to defend the Heavenly Court. 118 121
During the final battle, Pangu's energy body shattered the Monster Clan's Primordial River Luo Formation and disrupted the Heavenly Stellar Formation. Over half of the clan's Daluo Golden Immortal-level Monster Gods were killed or injured, while many stellar formation banners were destroyed. 122
Di Jun and Donghuang Taiyi ultimately died, and both the Chaos Bell and the Witch-Slaying Sword vanished. 126
After the calamity, Shi Mo proposed resettling the surviving Monster Clan in the north of the Primordial World, while the Human Clan received the central region and the Wu Clan the south. Many Monster Clan members entered the Sages' sects, became mounts or disciples of Quasi-Sages, or scattered independently; Qinyuan led the remaining northern faction. 126
Later Eras
Although fragmented, the Monster Clan continued to clash with the expanding Human Clan. Its mixed membership included both peaceful cultivators and violent remnants attached to its former glory, deepening the racial hostility between humans and monsters. 133
In Pangu World, the Monster Clan was initially considered beneath gods and fiends in status, but its members possessed strong aptitude for qi refinement. By cultivating both divine-fiend techniques and qi refinement, it produced an increasing number of powerful experts. 191
A Golden Crow Demon Emperor later unified the scattered Monster Clan into a force second only to the Human Clan. His attempt to replace the Human Clan as Pangu World's foremost race ended in defeat after he and his nine brothers slaughtered countless humans and other beings using the Solar Golden Rainbow escape technique. 201
After the Human-Monster struggle subsided in Pangu World, many Monster Clan members attached themselves to the Human Clan. 202
