Xuanyu challenged Ibiki’s exam decisions while Sarutobi Hiruzen prepared an Uchiha extermination plan using Impure World Reincarnation. After the Great Toad Sage warned Jiraiya about the uncertain future, Jiraiya and Tsunade joined Xuanyu and the Uchiha in planning to expose Hiruzen’s crimes during the Chunin Exams.

• Xuanyu forced Ibiki to cancel the tenth question and recall the examinees who had withdrawn, then recruited candidates for the Uchiha Merchant Guild.
• Shisui revealed himself to Kakashi and explained how Xuanyu saved him and stopped Itachi from following Hiruzen’s path, while Hiruzen grew suspicious of Xuanyu’s perfect exam score.
• Itachi confronted Hiruzen over his betrayal and threatened the Sarutobi Clan if Hiruzen targeted Sasuke, then fought Hiruzen’s reanimated guards and left with Kisame.
• Hiruzen and Danzō used Impure World Reincarnation to revive powerful shinobi, including Hyuga experts, Hatake Sakumo, Dan Katō, and Nawaki, while deceiving them about the Uchiha Clan.
• Jiraiya and Tsunade learned that Hiruzen was reviving the dead and plotting against the Uchiha, then heard the Great Toad Sage’s warning that Xuan Yu could change Konoha’s future and that Jiraiya faced danger from Rinnegan wielders.
• Xuanyu warned Uchiha Hanjō to protect the clan, and Jiraiya and Tsunade asked the Uchiha to expose Hiruzen’s human experiments during the Chunin Exams.
• Xuanyu gave Jiraiya a Signal Flare and promised the Uchiha Police Force’s help, while two hidden observers followed Jiraiya and Tsunade to report their plans to Hiruzen.

The Uchiha exposed Sarutobi Konohamaru’s attack on civilians and Sarutobi Hiruzen’s use of Impure World Reincarnation, forcing a growing confrontation between the clans. As Uchiha Xia faced the Sarutobi forces, Jiraiya and Tsunade fought to free Root’s prisoners and were overwhelmed by reanimated fighters.

• Jiraiya and Tsunade subdued Sarutobi Police Force spies before heading to the Utatane Clan, while Hatake Sakumo toured Konoha and heard residents condemn Sarutobi rule.
• Sarutobi Konohamaru ordered his men to attack civilians in Uchiha territory, and Hatake Sakumo was forced to fight the Uchiha Police Force until Uchiha Xia arrived and drove Konohamaru away.
• Uchiha Xia sealed Hatake Sakumo and exposed the reanimation to civilians, while Jiraiya and Tsunade stormed Root’s base to rescue the imprisoned people.
• Uchiha Xia confronted the Sarutobi Clan and demanded Konohamaru’s surrender, drawing Asuma and reanimated Hyuga Masame and Hyuga Tianqi into a fight with the Uchiha.
• Hyuga Sanming revealed the Main House’s abuse of the Branch House and persuaded Hyuga Tianqi to stop fighting, allowing Uchiha Xia to gain the advantage.
• Asuma called for help against Uchiha Xia, while Jiraiya and Tsunade confronted Sarutobi Shuo and other reanimated fighters at the Root Laboratory.
• Dan Katō possessed Sarutobi Shuo as Jiraiya entered Sage Mode to summon the Great Toad Sages, but reanimated fighters restrained Tsunade and Sarutobi Daqing attacked her.

Jiraiya and Tsunade exposed Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo’s experiments while Xuan Yu and his allies fought the reanimated forces sent against them. The arc ended with the Akatsuki defeating the Immortal Legion at the Uchiha Clan, as Danzo’s observers proposed reviving past Hokage.

• Jiraiya rescued Tsunade from the reanimated fighters, sealed them, and joined her in freeing the captives at Root’s Experiment Base.
• Jiraiya and Tsunade discovered that Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo had taken civilians and planned to use three clan members as sacrifices to revive the Three Hokage.
• Sarutobi Hiruzen sent reanimated shinobi after Xuan Yu during the exams, but Shino, Hinata, and Neji stopped them with Xuan Yu’s help.
• Xuan Yu killed Ibiki and Gekko Hayate after they attacked him, then left the exam grounds as the conflict with Hiruzen escalated.
• Orochimaru exposed Hiruzen’s role in Konoha’s forbidden experiments, while Jiraiya and Tsunade confronted Hiruzen and Danzo over the rescued civilians.
• Kakashi reunited with his reanimated father, Hatake Sakumo, and learned that Sarutobi Konohamaru had revived him with Hiruzen’s help.
• Deidara, Kimimaro, and Jugo defeated and sealed most of the Root-backed Immortal Legion before it reached the Uchiha Clan.
• Danzo’s observers concluded that ordinary reanimated shinobi could not defeat the Akatsuki and proposed reviving past Hokage.

Uchiha Xuan Yu and his allies exposed Sarutobi Hiruzen’s plan to sacrifice Konoha’s people and summoned Hokage, turning the village against him. Hashirama and Tobirama opposed Xuan Yu, and the stretch ended with Tobirama teleporting toward him amid multiplying explosions.

• Sarutobi Hiruzen revealed his Impure World Reincarnation army and attacked Jiraiya, but Uchiha Xuan Yu arrived and easily repelled him.
• Xuan Yu destroyed the reincarnated attackers, exposed Danzō’s hidden Uchiha eye, and demanded that Hiruzen release the captives, while the villagers denounced Hiruzen’s sacrifice plan.
• Orochimaru intervened to protect the crowd, and Shisui revealed himself, confronted Danzō, and stabbed him before Danzō ordered Hiruzen to summon the Three Hokage.
• Hiruzen sacrificed three captives to revive Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju, while Naruto learned that Minato was his father and that Minato’s soul remained inside the Death God.
• Xuan Yu repeatedly struck Tobirama and challenged his condemnation of the Uchiha, while the villagers backed Xuan Yu and accused Hiruzen of tyranny.
• Hashirama and Tobirama rejected Xuan Yu’s demand to imprison Hiruzen, his son, his grandson, and Danzō, and Tobirama attacked Xuan Yu before Shisui stepped in.
• Shisui used genjutsu to immobilize Tobirama, but Tobirama escaped and unleashed Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags, then teleported toward Xuan Yu as the blasts continued.
