History

Sasuke was regarded as the Ninja Academy's model first-year student and an Uchiha prodigy. He could perform the Great Fireball Technique while most classmates were still learning basic techniques, but continued training alone to catch up to his older brother, Itachi. 5

Before the massacre, Sasuke encountered Uchiha Sakuya/Shuo Ye at the Naka River. Their competitive Fire Release exchange became a twenty-minute spar, after which Sasuke confronted Shuo Ye about hiding his abilities and invited him to train together. 12 As tension grew within the clan district, Sasuke became unsettled by his family's behavior and confided in Shuo Ye by the river; the two made a pact of brotherhood. 21

During the Uchiha Clan Massacre, Sasuke witnessed Itachi's actions and awakened a one-tomoe Sharingan.
