Background / History
Shuo Ye is a transmigrator with memories of a previous life as a Chinese university student and extensive knowledge of the Naruto story. Reborn into the Uchiha Clan as a seven-year-old, he knows the clan massacre is coming but lacks the power and influence to stop it. He initially chooses to hide his unusual knowledge and keep his combat ability inconspicuous. 1 3
Before the massacre, he trains in chakra control, taijutsu, shuriken use, and Fire Release while investigating the clan's growing unrest around Naka Shrine. He learns of the planned coup through eavesdropping and clan assemblies, but cannot find a way to prevent the conflict between the Uchiha and the village. 6 12 14 17
During the Uchiha Clan Massacre, Shuo Ye witnesses the destruction of the compound, loses both parents, and awakens the Mangekyō Sharingan beside his dying mother. He attacks Itachi but is overwhelmed and subjected to Tsukuyomi, which forces him to relive the deaths of his family and clansmen for seventy-two hours. 24 27 28 29
Afterward, he becomes one of the massacre's two known child survivors alongside Sasuke. The Third Hokage permits him to remain in his parents' home in the Uchiha Clan District, though most clan assets are placed under village control. Shuo Ye returns to the Ninja Academy after a year and continues training in secret while concealing his Mangekyō Sharingan. 34 41 47
Appearance
At age ten, Shuo Ye has lost the baby fat of his early childhood. He remains shorter than many children his age, including Naruto and Sasuke, with defined cheekbones, a narrow jaw, black hair, and black eyes when his dōjutsu is inactive. 50
- Wears the Uchiha Clan crest on his clothing before the massacre. 5
- Has dark, often unexpressive eyes that turn crimson when activating the Sharingan. 16
- Became visibly gaunt and sleep-deprived during his isolation immediately after the massacre. 38
- His right eye increasingly blurs under bright light due to Mangekyō overuse. 50
Personality
Shuo Ye is quiet, observant, and emotionally guarded. His previous-life memories make ordinary childhood conversation exhausting, and his awareness of the future leaves him isolated from classmates and clan members alike. 1 3
He is highly deliberate about risk. At the Academy, he suppresses his performance to avoid attention from powerful village figures, maintaining scores that consistently place between sixth and ninth in class. 15 45
Despite his distance, Shuo Ye is compassionate toward people who are isolated or grieving. He offers Naruto practical guidance, accepts Ino's persistent friendship, and repeatedly tries to reach Sasuke after the massacre. 2 8 44
The massacre and Tsukuyomi harden his resolve without fully making him vengeful. He refuses to reveal the massacre's deeper circumstances to Sasuke because he fears pushing him toward hatred of the village. 29 31
Abilities & Skills
Sharingan
Shuo Ye awakened a one-tomoe Sharingan as a child and later reached three tomoe after awakening the Mangekyō. 16 31
- Intimidated older children into fleeing without physical combat. 16
- Allows him to perceive chakra and heightened sensory detail when his Mangekyō is active. 47
- Its activation attracts attention within the Uchiha Clan, prompting Takuma to warn him that being noticed also means being used. 17
- He avoids displaying it publicly after the massacre. 31 34
Mangekyō Sharingan
Shuo Ye's Mangekyō pattern consists of three diamond-like shapes connected into a rotating geometric design. 47
- Awakened through the shock of his mother's death. 27
- Its use progressively damages his eyesight; prolonged Sharingan use and Mangekyō techniques leave his vision blurred and dimmed. 47 50
- He has no known replacement eyes or sibling donor, making the threat of blindness especially severe. 47
Time Retrace
Time Retrace is Shuo Ye's left-eye Mangekyō ability. 27 28
- Rewinds Shuo Ye's own position in time by approximately three seconds rather than rewinding the entire world. 28
- First activates passively when Itachi threatens his life, returning him to a position before Itachi's attempted grab. 28
- Causes severe eye pain and bleeding when triggered. 28
Void Flame
Void Flame is Shuo Ye's right-eye Mangekyō ability, described as a destructive ocular technique that erases what it touches rather than conventionally burning it. 27 47
- Can cause part of a target to fade from existence, as demonstrated on a dead tree branch. 47
- Rapidly drains Shuo Ye's chakra, leaving him unable to raise more chakra after a brief test. 47
- Shuo Ye refuses to test it on living beings because he does not know its full range or controllability. 47
- He nearly struck Sasuke with it during the massacre, an experience that continues to restrain him. 47
Chakra Control and Fire Release
Shuo Ye's chakra control is unusually advanced for his age, largely due to his theoretical knowledge and deliberate training. 5 12
- Can precisely regulate the size, shape, and termination of his Fire Release: Fireball Jutsu. 12
- Can create a small chakra light at his fingertip without formal ninjutsu. 14
- Opened the concealed stone slab leading to Naka Shrine's underground chamber by applying chakra to it. 14
- Deliberately earned only a B+ in Academy chakra-control assessment to remain unremarkable. 15
Taijutsu and Shuriken Technique
Shuo Ye combines careful physical control with intentionally restrained Academy performances. 12 15
- Uses stable footing and controlled body mechanics in close combat. 12
- Can throw six shuriken in two volleys within two centimeters of a target's center from fifteen meters away, including while moving. 50
- Performed a perfect three-clone technique during an obstacle course before deliberately making one clone stumble. 45
- Intentionally lost a taijutsu assessment match against Ino to avoid standing out. 15

- Ninja tool pouch — carries shuriken and Academy materials. 12 50

Relationships
- Uzumaki Naruto — Classmate and reluctant friend. Shuo Ye gives Naruto advice on chakra control, protects him from bullies, and later treats him to ramen. 2 16 19
- Yamanaka Ino — Close friend whose persistence gradually breaks through Shuo Ye's isolation. She shares meals with him, leaves flowers at his door after the massacre, and gives him balloon flower seeds. 8 37 38 49
- Uchiha Sasuke — Fellow Uchiha, sparring partner, and fellow massacre survivor. Shuo Ye wants to prevent Sasuke from being consumed by hatred, though Sasuke remains distant. 12 31 44
- Uchiha Itachi — The murderer of Shuo Ye's clan and the shinobi who subjects him to Tsukuyomi. Itachi recognizes Shuo Ye's time-related Mangekyō ability and asks him to watch over Sasuke. 28 29
- Uchiha Takuma — Shuo Ye's father and early Fire Release teacher. Before dying in the massacre, Takuma tells Shuo Ye to take pride in himself as an individual rather than solely as an Uchiha. 5 26
- Uchiha Shizuka — Shuo Ye's mother. Her final reassurance that he is her pride directly precedes his Mangekyō awakening. 3 27
- Umino Iruka — Academy instructor who recognizes Shuo Ye's carefully controlled grades and offers him help, which Shuo Ye declines. 45
- Third Hokage — Oversees Shuo Ye's post-massacre guardianship and allows him to keep living in his family home under village supervision. 34
