Yang Dong later disappears, leaving Ye Fan without the powerful backing he had expected. Ye Fan becomes a target throughout the Eastern Wasteland after being framed in connection with the Azure Emperor’s Supreme Emperor Armament. 440
After growing powerful enough to walk the Ancient Path of the Underworld, Ye Fan reunites with Yang Dong. He pursues his former master because the Ghost Hand Martial Soul is believed to be a key to the Ancient Underworld; after their tense reunion, they agree to address one another as brothers rather than master and disciple. 440 441
Ye Fan returns to the Immortal Realm with Emperor Wushi, the Ruthless Great Emperor, and Yang Dong. There, he investigates Duan De’s ominous visions concerning a future calamity and seeks information about the Land of the Upper Heavens. 449 450 451
As the conflict involving the Myriad Worlds escalates, Ye Fan travels through the River of Time, fights Immortal Kings and Quasi-Immortal Emperors, and ultimately joins Yang Dong, the Empress, and Emperor Wushi in resisting the will represented by the Gray Altar. 460 464 484 487
Personality
Ye Fan is determined, proud, and unwilling to submit to a fate imposed by others. When confronted with the middle-aged man and the will of Heaven, he chooses resistance alongside Yang Dong, the Empress, and Emperor Wushi. 484
He is deeply protective of his allies and disciples. He pursues the Ancient Underworld partly because of his concern for his friends, and he reacts with grief and rage upon learning of the losses suffered by the Heavenly Court. 441 488
Despite his stature, Ye Fan retains a calculating and humorous side. During his reunion with Yang Dong, he exaggerates his past hardships in an attempt to gain benefits from his former master. 440
