Background / History

Hidden Sand enters the conflict on the Land of Fire’s eastern coast, where Qian Yun discovers its force fighting Konoha ninja after initially mistaking them for Hidden Mist operatives in disguise. 13

The village targets Konoha personnel during the coastal campaign. Its forces repeatedly attempt to eliminate Qian Yun after he disrupts their operations with smoke, toxins, and evasion techniques; Pakura personally pursues him after he forces her to retreat. 14

Chiyo and Ebizō attempt to exploit Kushina’s capture to release the Nine-Tails. Their operation is interrupted by Qian Yun and the arrival of Konoha reinforcements, after which Chiyo and Ebizō retreat. 16

Following Qian Yun’s conflict with Sasori, Hidden Sand becomes increasingly concerned with containing information about the One-Tail Shukaku’s escape. Chiyo, Pakura, and a Hidden Sand force pursue Qian Yun relentlessly, while later Hidden Sand and Hidden Stone forces clash over Shukaku. 27 28
