Background

Shigure was formerly a psychological counselor on Earth who specialized in troubled teenagers. Three years before the story, his soul transmigrated into the ninja world; he initially possessed neither chakra nor the strength to survive its coming conflicts. 1

He was taken in by Teuchi and Ayame of Ichiraku Ramen, who treated him as family. By the beginning of the story, he works in the shop as a skilled employee while concealing the Dream Master System from everyone around him. 6 7

The system activates shortly before Team 7’s first shared dream. From the shadows of the Dream-Making Theater, Shigure uses Naruto’s dream and the reactions of Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi to collect Emotion Points. 1
