Background

The Fire Dragon King’s remnant soul remained with the Ice Dragon King beneath the Icefire Yin-Yang Well, guarding their immense dragon skeletons. When Jiang Qingyu reached the lakebed, she and the Ice Dragon King restrained and interrogated him, initially mistaking him for a woman. She was immediately suspicious of his interest in the dragon bones and demanded an explanation. 8

After recognizing Jiang Qingyu’s ice-and-fire attributes and negotiating a bargain, the Dragon Kings agreed to give him their bones in return for help rebuilding their bodies. A purported peace agreement instead formed a master-servant contract, making Jiang Qingyu their master. The Fire Dragon King was furious at the result, particularly because the two had once stood among the Nine Dragon Kings. 9

She subsequently entered Jiang Qingyu’s sea of consciousness with the Ice Dragon King. Though bound by contract, she generally presents their relationship to outsiders as friendship and a “special bond,” concealing the master-servant arrangement. 9 51

Appearance

The Fire Dragon King manifests as a cold and noble woman with the pride and oppressive aura of dragonkind. 8

  • Long, fiery red hair that falls around her shoulders. 8
  • Blazing red gown. 8
  • Scorching, oppressive fire aura. 8 11
  • Can manifest draconic features, including scales along her arm and a dragonfire-wreathed fist. 20

Personality

The Fire Dragon King is impatient, proud, blunt, and quick-tempered. She distrusts strangers, reacts strongly to disrespect, and openly resents the master-servant contract forced upon her by the Ice Dragon King’s mistake. 8 9 20

In contrast to the Ice Dragon King’s impulsiveness, she is more cautious and tactful. She prevents the Ice Dragon King from publicly revealing their servitude to Jiang Qingyu, discusses threats to his future with Di Tian, and stresses that Jiang Qingyu belongs to neither of them. 51

She is fiercely protective of Jiang Qingyu. She reprimands Di Tian for threatening him, guards him during the Flame Marrow Heart absorption, and takes a personal interest in raising his potential toward the level of the Dragon God. 11 68 69

Abilities & Skills

Dragon King Bloodline and Authority

As one of the Nine Great Dragon Kings, the Fire Dragon King possesses overwhelming seniority and bloodline pressure among soul beasts.

  • Her appearance immediately causes Di Tian to abandon his arrogance and address her as “Fire Auntie.” 11
  • Her bloodline pressure overwhelms the Hundred-Thousand-Year Emperor Flame Phoenix King, leaving it dizzy and unable to contend with her. 64
  • She moves quickly enough to intercept the Emperor Flame Phoenix King’s escape and throw it ashore by the neck. 64
  • Lava cannot harm her, allowing her to enter a lava river without injury. 64

Fire-Attribute Treasure Sensing

The Fire Dragon King can detect items capable of strengthening fire attributes.

  • She senses a fire-attribute treasure within ten li of Spirit Hall, leading Jiang Qingyu toward the Earthcore Phoenix Blood Crystal. 17
  • She identifies the crystal as an Earthcore Phoenix Blood Crystal and urges Jiang Qingyu to refine it for fire-attribute purification. 19
  • She locates the Flame Marrow Heart in Flame Valley and guides the group to the lava river containing it. 64
  • She rejects being called a “treasure-hunting mouse,” insisting that “treasure-hunting dragon” is more fitting. 20

Fire Cultivation Guidance

She evaluates and directs the development of Jiang Qingyu’s Flame Phoenix Sword and fire-attribute soul power.

  • Explains that the Fire Dragon King arm soul bone is the key medium for combining Jiang Qingyu’s fire and ice powers. 15
  • Teaches the foundational principle behind Ice-Fire Dual Extremes, External Overlay, using the paired arm bones to balance ultimate fire and ultimate ice over the Flame Phoenix Sword. 15
  • Warns Jiang Qingyu to master the basic overlay before attempting deeper fusion. 15
  • States that the Flame Phoenix Sword exceeds virtually all fire-element martial souls, barring suppression by a Fire Dragon King martial soul. 21
  • Explains that Jiang Qingyu’s Flame Marrow Heart absorption and prior Earthcore Phoenix Blood Crystal refinement purify the Flame Phoenix Sword’s phoenix bloodline toward a divine-beast phoenix martial soul. 69

Fire Dragon King Arm Bone

The Fire Dragon King provides Jiang Qingyu with her crimson, god-level right arm bone.

  • The bone enhances the Flame Phoenix Sword’s power after absorption. 9
  • It grants Jiang Qingyu the right-arm bone skill Great Disintegration Technique. 9
  • Together with the Ice Dragon King’s arm bone, it serves as the shared-origin bridge that stabilizes Jiang Qingyu’s ice-fire overlay. 15
