Background / History
Taishi Ci manifests from the third page of Zhuge Ming's Records of the Three Kingdoms after Zhuge Ming reaches soul power level 11. He is the third documented general summoned by the martial soul, following Zhao Yun and Guan Yu. Though Zhuge Ming initially expected another Shu-Han figure, he recognizes that unifying the continent requires drawing strength from all Three Kingdoms factions. 25
In his former life, Taishi Ci served Sun Quan after fighting Sun Ce. He considers his early death at forty-one and his inability to establish greater accomplishments his principal regret. Zhuge Ming promises that this new life will give him the chance to fight freely and earn glorious military achievements; Taishi Ci accepts his lord's trust. 25
Soon after appearing, Taishi Ci challenges Zhao Yun to a spar. Using Meeting on a Narrow Road, he creates a sealed Duel Domain where the two level-96 generals can battle without endangering the surrounding village. Their evenly matched duel ends only when Zhuge Ming orders them to stop; both emerge injured but with greater mutual respect. 27 28
Zhuge Ming later assigns Taishi Ci to accompany him beyond Langya City. Taishi Ci transports him through the air while searching Holy Soul Village and Notting City for Tang San, then accompanies him to Soto City. 31 32 33
At Soto's Great Spirit Arena, Taishi Ci suppresses his registered strength to level 40 and enters a wager match against level-49 Soul Ancestor Ye Rui. He defeats her despite her Ice Crystal Phoenix ten-thousand-year soul bone, winning the Storage Crown for Zhuge Ming. 33 35 36
Appearance
Taishi Ci is a tall, sturdy man with notably long arms and a heroic rather than conventionally handsome appearance. His body bears the signs of a lifelong weapon user. 25 34
- Wears a blue-gray, narrow-sleeved short tunic with a slightly open collar. 25
- Has a prominent brow ridge and slightly sunken eye sockets. 25
- Thick calluses cover the bases of his palms from gripping weapons. 25
- Wields twin blue short halberds when his martial soul is summoned. 27
Personality
Taishi Ci is battle-hungry, direct, and spirited. His first concern upon gaining a new life is whether he can “fight to [his] heart's content,” and he eagerly challenges Zhao Yun shortly after his summoning. 25 26
He is confident enough to treat far weaker opponents casually, but he is not needlessly murderous. During his match with Ye Rui, he deliberately directs an early strike to cut only her hair and prepares to hold back when she appears to surrender. 35
His loyalty to Jiangdong remains personal and emotional. He objects when Zhuge Ming's Shu-Han banners exclude Eastern Wu, then falls silent after hearing Zhuge Ming's criticism of Eastern Wu's later decline. 31
Abilities & Skills
Level 96 Super Douluo
Taishi Ci is recorded as a level-96 Titled Douluo, bearing the title Righteous Valor Douluo. His actual power vastly exceeds the level-40 Battle Soul Elder identity he presents at the Great Spirit Arena. 25 35 36
- His soul-ring configuration is two purple, five black, and two red rings. 27
- The summoned generals' hundred-thousand-year rings provide one hundred-thousand-year skill each rather than the usual two. 27
- His physical strength allows him to overpower Soul Sage Flender with one hand and restrain him before Flender can retaliate. 37
- Ye Rui's freezing skill can bypass protective soul power, but it cannot meaningfully harm Taishi Ci's Titled Douluo physique. 35
Wild Song Halberd
Taishi Ci's martial soul is the Wild Song Halberd, manifested as a pair of short halberds. He uses them for close combat, ranged attacks, and overwhelming direct pressure. 25 27
- He can wield one halberd as a bow and the other as an arrow for soul-power archery. 27
- His ordinary halberd thrusts can seal an opponent's escape routes through technique alone. 35
- He breaks Ye Rui's Cold Bud Cage with a single thrust. 35
One Rider Against a Thousand
Taishi Ci's first soul skill summons a phantom warhorse, enabling an explosive charge and sudden repositioning. 25 27
- Carries him forward with the momentum of a massed cavalry charge. 27
- Lets him evade Ye Rui's wide-area ice-blade assault and appear behind her with a halberd at her neck. 36
Every Arrow Finds Its Mark
His second soul skill transforms his halberds into a bow-and-arrow form, firing concentrated soul-power arrows. 25 27
- He can anticipate an opponent's movement and fire at their projected position rather than their current one. 27
- Even Zhao Yun narrowly avoids one such precisely placed shot. 27
Meeting on a Narrow Road
Taishi Ci's third soul skill creates a Duel Domain that forcibly brings a target into an isolated one-on-one battle. 25 27
- The domain prevents the duel from affecting the outside world. 27
- It also blocks outside observers, including Zhuge Ming, from entering. 27
- It allows high-level combatants to use their abilities without destroying nearby settlements. 28
True Form of the Mad Halberd
His seventh soul skill enlarges his body into a giant form and transforms the Wild Song Halberd into enormous weapons. 25 27
- Bronze battle patterns emerge across his body. 27
- The enlarged halberds exert enough force to crack the Duel Domain during his clash with Zhao Yun. 27
Other Documented Soul Skills
| Soul Skill | Ring Age |
