Background / History

Shrek Academy has an inheritance of more than twenty thousand years. As it expanded, its former campus became the Inner Courtyard, while the former inner city of Shrek City became part of the academy 124 133. Shrek and the Tang Sect are financially independent; Shrek’s independent status has also been a source of friction with the Federation 12 15.

Organization and Training

• Sea God Pavilion — Yun Ming convenes its elders to address major matters concerning the academy 11 96.
• Outer Courtyard — Led by dean Cai Yue’er. Its students undergo assessments, including graduation assessments 133 135.
• Inner Courtyard — Occupies the academy’s former campus and includes the students who attend the Sea God’s Fate Matchmaking Conference 133 137.
• Devil Island — Shrek territory used to train talented younger members. Seven senior members stationed there later disappear 89 105.
• Golden Ancient Tree — A protective presence within the academy. Its avatar, Old Jin, can sense activity throughout Shrek’s territory; a force there also disrupts Na Nali’s spiritual control of infiltrators 86 136.
• Graduate network — Ya Li says Shrek graduates are spread widely enough to help search for a missing person 51.

Relationships

• War God Hall — The institutions compete for influence over Yun Feng, though Ya Li and Long Yeyue are permitted to help guide her while she remains with the Hall 12 16 21.
• Tang Sect — Joins Shrek in proposing to nurture Yun Feng; the two are also named together as targets of Qian Gu Dongfeng’s opposition 16 52.
• Spirit Pagoda — Maintains formal contact with Shrek despite longstanding discord. The Pagoda later cooperates with the Holy Spirit Cult in planning an attack on the academy 27 40 135.
• Sun Moon Imperial Soul Master Academy — A rival academy whose students perform better on average than Shrek’s during Yun Feng’s assessments, to Yun Ming’s concern 15 134.
• Yun Feng — Shrek seeks a closer relationship with her and appoints her a specially invited assessment instructor, but she does not become a Shrek student 123 135.

Major Events

• Interest in Yun Feng — After learning that the Golden Dragon Princess is with the War God Hall, Shrek’s elders seek a role in her upbringing. Ya Li stays with her, and Long Yeyue offers guidance on Twin Martial Souls 12 16 21.
• Devil Island incident — Following reports of unknown people leaving the island, Cai Yue’er finds its illusions, Destructive Power, and seven guardians gone. Yun Ming heads there to investigate 95 96.
• Exchange delegation assessments — Shrek invites Yun Feng to assess students for a Federation delegation to the Star Luo Empire. None of its assessed students lasts ten moves against her; Cai Yue’er rules that those who failed must delay graduation by a year 123 134 135.
• Sea God’s Fate Matchmaking Conference — Several Inner Courtyard students declare their interest in Yun Feng. She overwhelms them with spiritual pressure and leaves to stay at the Spirit Pagoda; Yun Ming then encourages the defeated students, and the conference resumes 137 138.
