Uther fell silent for a moment before making up his mind. The Scourge was ravaging Lordaeron, and that fool Arthas had chased the dreadlord all the way to Northrend. Lordaeron was now teetering on the brink.
A weapon capable of dealing lethal damage to the Scourge was indeed of vital importance.
Not long ago, while the Undead Plague was still spreading through East Weald, Mograine of the Silver Hand, along with Isillien, Abbendis, Doan, and Fairbanks,
had gathered at an inn in Southshore to discuss how to resist the undead invasion. Mograine had produced a Shadow Crystal captured during the Second War and proposed the theory that light could not exist independently of darkness.
He believed that ultimate shadow was ultimate Holy Light! They should join forces to purify the Shadow Crystal, fill it with the power of the Holy Light, and use it against the Scourge.
At the time, Uther had also received an invitation and had planned to go to Southshore to deal with the Shadow Crystal alongside them.
But Arthas had been surrounded at Hearthglen, and Uther had had no choice but to go rescue him first, causing him to miss the gathering.
Mograine had proposed purifying the Shadow Crystal, but others had suggested that it was too dangerous and should be destroyed.
After some discussion, they decided to pour Holy Light energy into the Shadow Crystal together.
If it could truly be transformed into a Holy Light Crystal, that would naturally be ideal. If not, their Holy Light would completely destroy the Shadow Crystal.
But then a miracle happened. The Shadow Crystal actually transformed into a pure Holy Light Crystal, radiating boundless Holy Light.
Even the nearly irreversible injuries Mograine had suffered during the Second War, wounds that even the Holy Light could not heal,
were cured the instant he touched the Holy Light Crystal!
This further strengthened Mograine's conviction. Together with Fairbanks, he took the Holy Light Crystal and planned to travel to Ironforge, the dwarven kingdom, to ask its king, Magni Bronzebeard, to personally forge it into a weapon.
Their journey was expected to take several months. If the Holy Light Crystal could successfully be forged into a divine weapon, that would be best of all.
Humanity truly needed a divine weapon to fight the ever-strengthening Scourge.
So, if they could retrieve the legendary Silver Hand Warhammer, its significance would be immense.
That weapon had belonged to Tyr, one of the Titan Keepers. Most human paladins believed in Tyr, and even the Knights of the Silver Hand took their name from Tyr's weapon.
If the Silver Hand acquired that weapon, its significance would far surpass that of Mograine's newly forged weapon. It was a true legendary weapon from ancient times.
"I am willing to go with you. This is an order from the Titan Keepers and guidance from the Holy Light. As the former Highlord of the Silver Hand, I, Uther, cannot shirk this duty."
"With your help, we will definitely complete this mission, Lord Uther." Rod smiled.
"But Rod, do you know the exact location of Tyr's Tomb?" Uther asked.
If they only knew it was somewhere near Tirisfal Glades, it would be difficult to find. The area was simply too vast!
A blind search might take months, or even years, without yielding anything.
"The Holy Light guided me, and the Titan Keepers also told me the exact location. In the central region of Tirisfal Glades, there is an ancient lake. Tyr's Tomb lies buried at the bottom of that lake.
"There is a group of guardians at Tyr's Tomb. At first, the Vrykul guarded it, but when they realized they could not live forever, they later selected some humans to serve as Tyr's Guard.
"Those people live nearby and have secretly protected this sacred land. That continued until more than two thousand years ago, when Emperor Sthoradin led his followers and forcibly entered this place.
"But Emperor Sthoradin never came back out. From then on, the guards swore never to allow anyone inside again.
"During the Second War, paladins emerged among humanity. The guardians of Tyr's Tomb discovered that the power of the Holy Light was exceptionally compatible with them, so they too began studying it.
"I think that if we make our identities and intentions clear, Tyr's Guard will definitely allow us into Tyr's Tomb," Rod said.
If members of other professions came here, Tyr's Guard might not let them enter. But now the Scourge was ravaging the land, humanity truly needed the guardian's weapon, and one of those arriving was Uther, one of the first paladins!
Tyr's Guard would never stop them. After mastering the power of the Holy Light, these guardians of Tyr had become naturally close to paladins!
"There is such a thing? If it is as you say, Rod, then I will persuade Tyr's guardians to hand that ancient artifact over for me to wield." Uther nodded.
"I believe in you, Lord Uther. They will definitely acknowledge you," Rod said.
"This is going to be an epic adventure. I can barely wait." Jaina's face was full of excitement.
The three talked for a while longer before Jaina and Uther returned to their tents to rest. The stories they had heard tonight would probably keep them awake all night.
Early the next morning, after everyone awoke, Uther announced to them all that they would temporarily change their route and head for Tirisfal Glades, carrying out the Holy Light's guidance and following in the footsteps of the Titan Keepers.
Though some ordinary soldiers did not understand what was happening, the several paladins of the Knights of the Silver Hand strongly supported Uther's decision. After all, they were searching for the symbol of their order!
If they could reclaim the Silver Hand Warhammer, it would be of immense significance to the Knights of the Silver Hand.
Over the next three days, they rode at full speed toward the Tirisfal Territory near Lordaeron City.
Along the way, Uther continued teaching Rod Holy Light spells. This time, Rod did not hide his extraordinary talent for learning Holy Light spells.
Paladin spells: Judgment, Avenger's Shield, Hammer of the Righteous, Blessing of Protection, Blessing of Freedom, Blessing of Sacrifice, Cleanse, Sense Undead, Hammer of Justice, Redemption, Shield of the Righteous, Rebuke, Light's Hammer, Avenging Wrath, Light of the Protector, Meditation.
In just three days, Rod had completely drained Uther of everything he knew.
All Holy Light spells consumed an average of 0.1 to 0.2 mana, with Redemption having the greatest cost at three mana points.
One of the spells, however, was especially important to Rod: Meditation. This technique allowed a paladin to calm down and meditate upon the Holy Light.
But after Rod used it, he could directly meditate to restore mana. Combined with Blessing of Wisdom, the effect was even better!
Besides teaching him spells, Uther also found time to train Rod in martial skills.
