Background / History
Pangu opened the Primordial World by splitting primordial chaos with the Heaven-Opening Divine Axe. Clear qi rose into heaven and turbid qi sank into earth, but the newly created world was unstable and threatened to collapse. Pangu held apart heaven and earth for billions of years until they stabilized, then perished from exhaustion 1.
Pangu's body became the world's fundamental features: his muscles formed mountains and land, blood became rivers and seas, hair became vegetation, eyes became the sun, moon, and stars, and breath became wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. His primordial spirit separated into three parts, while his essence blood became the Twelve Ancestral Witches 1.
In its earliest era, the world is saturated with pure innate spiritual energy, creation qi, innate spiritual roots, and innate treasures. Living beings are initially scarce, while the Heavenly Dao remains in gestation and its rules are incomplete 1.
Pangu's remnant consciousness continues to watch over the world after his death. He regards its eventual decline into the Age of Dharma Decline as both his personal humiliation and the humiliation of the Primordial World 2 3.

Pangu's Charge
After Li Changsheng reveals the world's projected future, Pangu offers him the Heaven-Opening Origin and the Creation-Splitting Great Dao inheritance. In exchange, Li must protect the Primordial World, alter its repeated calamities, and prevent the Age of Dharma Decline 3 4.
The Monstrous Beast Crisis
Li determines that the Monstrous Beast Calamity is the world's flawed attempt to cleanse Heaven-Opening baleful qi. Rather than simply exterminating beasts, he seeks a way to purify the corruption while preserving their innate true spirits 8 10.
His pursuit of the Pure World White Lotus leads him to Yingzhou Island, where he comprehends the World-Cleansing Great Dao and develops the World-Cleansing Divine Light—an ability capable of restraining baleful qi and offering a potential solution to the calamity 11 12 15.
Stabilizing the World
The World Tree is identified as one of only two supreme chaos spiritual roots capable of stabilizing worlds. Pangu states that, had he obtained its seed before creating heaven and earth, it could have stabilized the Great Dao and allowed him to survive the backlash of creation 20 21.
Li Changsheng cultivates the World Tree seed using the Creation Demon God's remnant corpse, then brings the resulting sapling to Pangu's Zhou Mountain sanctuary 20 21.
