Background

Xiao Yan joined the Heavens Chat Group while still a teenager cultivating under Yao Lao. Initially overwhelmed by Yang Xuan's account of the Immortal path, he nevertheless recognized the opportunity before him and sought to grow stronger. Yang Xuan's first red packet allowed him to advance from ninth-stage Battle Qi to Dou Zhe, while the cultivation methods shared through the group gave him a path beyond the limits of his original Flame Mantra 2 3 4 8.

When Yang Xuan prepared to anchor the Dou Qi Continent, Xiao Yan eagerly accepted a leaf from the Primordial Gourd Vine as the medium for his arrival. Yang Xuan subsequently manifested before Xiao Yan and Yao Lao, bestowed Innate Yimu essence, and raised Xiao Yan from two-star Dou Master to peak nine-star Dou Master 13 14.

The leaf later became a lotus platform and ultimately evolved into the Seven-Colored Flame Spirit Treasure Tree. Xiao Yan used it as the foundation of the Endless Flame Domain; its Dao aura aided his breakthroughs from Dou Emperor to Heavenly Sovereign and became integral to the domain's rise in the Great Thousand World 49.

Xiao Yan was initially described as a thin youth. By the time of the member tournament, he wore crimson robes and carried the controlled aura of Heavenly Flames around him, alternating between intense heat and complete restraint 13 55.

He is deeply grateful toward those who help him. Yang Xuan's gifts shape much of his growth, and Xiao Yan consistently treats him as a revered senior while striving to become strong enough to repay him. This gratitude does not make him passive: he seeks difficult fights, including a spar with Yang Xuan specifically to understand the gap between them 34 44 57.
