Background / History
Creation and first sanctuary
Nuwa creates the Human Race after Yan Zhen advises her to form a race in their likeness: intelligent beings capable of cultivating the laws of heaven and earth. She molds the first humans from Nine Heavens Breath Soil and Three Luminaries Divine Water, then declares humanity the master of heaven and earth. Yan Zhen shares the merit of creation and assumes the role of humanity's ancestral father. 77
Humanity's earliest existence is defined by vulnerability. Acquired humans spread across the dangerous Primordial World with little means of defense, often becoming prey for demonic beasts. Nine innate humans gather survivors near Mount Buzhou and establish the Mother Goddess Tribe, humanity's first sanctuary. 78
The nine leaders defend their people at great personal cost. Three perish while resisting the Golden Immortal-level Mountain-Splitting Hou; the six survivors later divide between three who seek greater cultivation and three who remain to guard their homeland. 78
Civilization and survival
Yan Zhen later lives among the Mother Goddess Tribe as an ordinary human under the identity of Cangjie. After experiencing humanity's short lives, loss of memory, and inability to preserve knowledge, he creates characters and the Five-Treasure Human Scripture. The Heavenly Dao recognizes these deeds, and Central Phoenix Mountain becomes Sacred Elephant Mountain, humanity's ancestral court. 79
Suiren discovers the use of fire and founds the Suiren Tribe. His Suiren Fire Scripture combines the Five-Treasure Human Scripture's foundation with fire cultivation; he freely shares both the scripture and fire-making methods with other tribes, helping unify the race. 80
The Demon Clan later massacres humans in an effort to forge a Witch-Slaying Sword. Nuwa intervenes to stop further bloodshed, while Yan Zhen acts directly to protect humanity. In the aftermath, the Wu Clan begins Human-Wu integration, supplying physical cultivation methods and protection against beasts and disasters. 80 81
Rise of the Human Dao
After ten thousand years of recovery and population growth, the Human Race becomes central to the Primordial World's providence. Taiqing Laozi establishes the Human Religion to enlighten humanity, while the Three Pure Ones and Western Religion all rely upon humanity's fortune in attaining Sainthood. 97
Dao Ancestor Hongjun decrees that humanity will be guided through the eras of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. Their achievements in governance, ethics, agriculture, medicine, warfare, and administration establish the foundations of the Human Dao. 98
Dynasties and later development
Yu the Great strengthens human unity by establishing unified rules and punishments, preserving the tribute system, and casting the Nine Tripod Cauldrons to suppress river channels and consolidate humanity's providence. 140 141
After Yu abdicates, Xia Qi defeats Boyi, establishes Great Xia, and replaces the old abdication tradition with hereditary rule. Over the following ten thousand years, humanity develops from scattered tribes into a civilization of dynasties, cultivators, and powerful military forces. 142
Appearance
Humans were created in the likeness of Nuwa and Yan Zhen. Most acquired humans begin physically frail compared with the Primordial World's innate races, while the original nine innate humans possess naturally formed Dao bodies. 77 78
- Complete primordial spirits — Unlike the Wu Clan, humans can comprehend and cultivate the laws of heaven and earth. 73 81
