Background / History

Harry was Peter Parker's longtime best friend and had previously dated Mary Jane. His relationship with Peter deteriorated after he became convinced that Spider-Man had murdered his father, Norman Osborn. Driven by revenge, he made an agreement with Doctor Otto Octavius to target Spider-Man. 21 22

Otto later abandoned their arrangement, assaulted Harry, and robbed his safe. Harry nonetheless continued preparing to confront Spider-Man, keeping a dagger ready for the encounter. 25

Personality

His need for revenge makes him volatile and self-destructive. Even after unmasking Spider-Man and discovering that his target is Peter, the shock only deepens his emotional collapse. 34 Following his memory loss, he briefly appears gentle and reconciliatory, but the resurfacing of his memories and hallucinations of Norman reignite his hatred. 37 40 42

Harry survives the fall but awakens with no memory of the recent events. Peter chooses not to restore those memories, hoping Harry can live peacefully. 37

Return of His Memories

After leaving the hospital, Harry suffers hallucinations of Norman that gradually trigger fragmented memories of Norman's death, his battle with Peter, and Peter's identity as Spider-Man. He ultimately embraces Norman's influence and renews his desire for revenge. 40

Final Battle

Harry lures Peter and Mary Jane to his home, drugs them, and attacks Peter. When Peter transforms into Venom, Vision intervenes. Harry later joins Eddie Brock and Flint Marko against Peter, Vision, and Otto on the Brooklyn Bridge, fighting Peter from his glider. 42 43

Aftermath

Following the Brooklyn Bridge battle, Harry and Peter resolve their misunderstanding. Harry still resents Peter and has people watch him near his home, choosing harassment over further direct violence. 44
