Background / History

After the battle against evil Soul Masters, Xie Xie recognized that he was falling behind Tang Wulin and Yuanen Yehui. He began requesting sparring sessions with Yuanen to expose his shortcomings, then followed Tang Wulin’s advice to take challenging Battle Soul Hall missions that would force him to improve under pressure 2.

He continued accepting high-difficulty missions and developed the Shadow Dragon Strangulation technique. His combat experience was evident when he eliminated an opposing auxiliary Soul Master immediately during Shrek’s friendly match against the second years, then helped finish the remaining opponents 5 8 9.

During the Star Luo individual tournament, Xie Xie fought Lin San despite severe injuries and pushed his bloodline to its limit. Tang Wulin conceded the match to prevent further harm after recognizing that Xie Xie’s martial soul was awakening 19. Tang Wulin then spent a full day and night guiding the awakening, causing Xie Xie’s Light Dragon and Shadow Dragon martial souls to fuse into the Space-Time Dragon 20.

Xie Xie is noted for his frivolous grin and flashy clothing, including a black-and-white formal suit patterned with dragons during Sea God Fate 24.

Personality

Xie Xie is loud, playful, and prone to teasing his friends, particularly Tang Wulin and Yue Zhengyu. He often makes exaggerated demands or jokes even in serious situations, such as requesting an inner-court position, a Shrek Seven Monsters seat, or soul bones as a reward after the Star Luo tournament 20 24.

Beneath that bravado, he is highly conscious of the gap between himself and stronger companions. His desire to stand beside Tang Wulin and prove himself to Yuanen drives much of his training and recklessness in battle 2 19. Although he can panic or try to flee when overwhelmed, he continues struggling rather than giving up 36 37.
