Background

Tang Wulin is a reborn individual who returned to the moment he first fell upon Douluo Continent after dying by suicide for love in his previous life. Determined to change the future, he joined the Tang Sect, warned Zang Xin of the abyss and evil soul masters, formed a bargain with the Golden Ancient Tree, and began directing Shrek Academy and the Tang Sect against those threats 1.

His outlook on Shrek's neutrality was shaped by his prior life. Rather than relying on balance alone, he believes Shrek must hold tangible power and use mutual restraint to protect itself; his proposed contact with the Douling Empire was intended as the first step of that policy 4.
