Background / History

More than a century before Mu Feng's arrival, Old Ghost Zhongli coerced Ye Xishui into driving a wedge between Long Xiaoyao and Mu En. Ye Xishui later reflected that this event led to the Holy Spirit Cult as it exists in the present. 4

As Supreme Leader, Ye Xishui maintains authority above Cult Leader Zhongli Wu. Although Zhongli Wu resents her seizure of power and the weakening of his authority, he is unable to openly oppose her decisions. 4

Appointment of the Holy Son

After examining Mu Feng's opposing angel martial souls, Ye Xishui names him the Holy Spirit Cult's Holy Son. She restricts knowledge of his identity to the Eight Great Elders and above, preventing ordinary Cult members from learning who he is. 4

She decides that Mu Feng will infiltrate Shrek Academy rather than confront it directly, intending to reduce the Cult's losses from Shrek's purges and establish an important agent within the academy. 4

Taking Mu Feng as a Disciple

Ye Xishui prevents Zhongli Wu from taking Mu Feng away and orders that he remain in Blood Soul Hall to cultivate under her guidance. Mu Feng addresses her as “Teacher,” and she accepts the arrangement. 4 5

Immediately afterward, Ye Xishui implants a curse into his spiritual sea. She considers direct control more reliable than brainwashing a child whose village was destroyed by evil soul masters. 4
