The Soul Department was one of the academy's major factions, forming the Bone Spire's three dominant factions alongside the Undead and Flesh Departments.

Victor was the current head of the Undead Department, while the Flesh Department was led by [Master Stitcher] Grasha, who had once competed with Victor for the titan remains.
