Background & History

Xiao Wu initially appears as a Shrek Academy student and Tang San's self-described “brother.” She is a transformed spirit beast whose true identity becomes public when Chen Fan reveals it at Shrek Academy. Tang San immediately defends her, while Xiao Wu is left frightened and confused by Chen Fan's intervention. 9 10 11

Chen Fan needs a 50,000-year Soft Bone Rabbit for his first soul ring and identifies Xiao Wu as a viable target. His superior spiritual power allows him to influence her, culminating in Xiao Wu's sacrifice. Her soul survives inside the Book of Darkness, and Chen Fan tells her that revival is possible if she accepts darkness evolution. Xiao Wu chooses that path, motivated by her hatred of Spirit Hall for her mother's death. 6 13 14

As a soul, Xiao Wu accepts Chen Fan's mission to locate the Blue Silver Emperor by returning to Tang San's side. She feigns remorse and loyalty, then reveals Chen Fan's plan by leading Tang San and Tang Hao to the Blue Silver Emperor's hiding place. She ultimately stabs Tang San with a blade condensed from dark power, openly declaring that she no longer trusts him or Tang Hao. 21 27 29

Xiao Wu later receives the Darkness Mark, evolves into a Dark-Eyed Spirit Rabbit, and regains a tangible human body. After achieving godhood, Xiao Wu develops her spatial divine power through continual cultivation and combat. She battles the Angel God, severely injuring him through spatial collapse despite sustaining grave injuries herself. Her time within Chen Fan's dark power changes her outlook. She becomes distrustful of Tang San and Tang Hao, believing that spirit beasts close to them would eventually be exploited.
