Background

Tang San originated in another world, where he was an outer disciple of the Tang Sect. He secretly learned techniques reserved for the inner sect—including the Mysterious Heaven Skill and the contents of the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record—before dying after jumping from a cliff and transmigrating to Soul Land 161 185.

In Soul Land, he became Tang Hao and Ah Yin's son and possessed Twin Martial Souls. His cultivation of the Mysterious Heaven Skill gave him innate full Soul Power, while his inherited Clear Sky Hammer made him a notable talent despite his difficult family circumstances 40 121.

Personality

Tang San is intensely devoted to his father, mother, Xiao Wu, and later descendants. He repeatedly risks himself to aid Tang Hao, seeks to restore Xiao Wu, and pursues greater power to overcome Chen Fan 29 185 207.

His loyalty is paired with deep resentment. Chen Fan's manipulation of Xiao Wu, imprisonment of Tang Hao, and control over the Clear Sky Sect leave Tang San unable to accept the Darkness God Cult sincerely. He conceals his hostility behind outward obedience, then steals sect secrets to gain leverage and plan an escape 158 159 160.

When confronted with proof of his past-life theft and present betrayal, Tang San's defiance collapses into despair and confession 161. In his final conflict with Chen Fan, his desire for revenge overwhelms his judgment and ultimately leads to his annihilation 214.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Twin Martial Souls, one of which is the Clear Sky Hammer 11 121.

  • Following his public punishment, the hammer degrades into a wooden hammer incapable of sustaining major techniques 162.
  • His second Martial Soul is likewise degraded into “useless weeds” when his Soul Power is abolished 162.
  • In a later-era battle, he again wields a Clear Sky Hammer alongside the Asura Demon Sword 196.

  • Its corrosive damage can be purified by Huo Yuhao's Death God Holy Dharma God 197.
  • Tang San's post-sacrifice power allows him to destroy invading forces and resurrect key subordinates during the Dark Era 207.

Transcendent Time and Space Manipulation

After absorbing the power of Huo Yuhao, Tang Wulin, and Tang Xuanyu, Tang San reaches a transcendent state 211.

  • Travels across time and space to locate Chen Fan's earliest point of origin.
  • Destroys billions of Chen Fan timelines with a single strike 211.
  • Becomes capable of managing the power of a new world as its Administrator 212.
  • Cannot permanently defeat Chen Fan after Chen Fan merges with reincarnation and becomes bound to the world's cycle of rebirth 213.

Major Arcs

Conflict with Chen Fan and Xiao Wu

Chen Fan uses fabricated claims about Tang Hao and Ah Yin to turn Xiao Wu against Tang San. Tang San tries to protect Xiao Wu and later prepares a super-poison to assist Tang Hao against Chen Fan, only for Xiao Wu to stab him with dark power and prevent him from returning to the battle 11 29.

Clear Sky Sect Disgrace

After Chen Fan subjugates the Clear Sky Sect, Tang Hao is imprisoned and Tang San is reduced to an ordinary disciple 43. Tang San continues cultivating and reaches Level 31, but remains isolated as the sect prospers under Chen Fan's influence 92 120.

Theft of the Core Blueprint

Tang San studies soul tools while secretly refusing to believe in the Darkness God Cult. With Yu Xiaogang's encouragement, he breaks into a protected study, copies the Clear Sky Sect's core blueprint, and intends to use the secrets as leverage for escape 158 159.

Chen Fan detects the breach, captures Yu Xiaogang through Xiao Wu, and exposes both the theft and Tang San's past-life identity. Tang San confesses after realizing Chen Fan knows the truth of his former life 160 161.

Public Trial and Exile

At a public trial, Chen Fan strips Tang San's Soul Power and degrades both of his Martial Souls. Tang San and Yu Xiaogang later attempt suicide together, but their rope snaps; they survive and begin wandering as destitute master and disciple 162 163.

A later report given to Tang Hao claims that Tang San died after a cliff-jump pact with Yu Xiaogang, though Tang San subsequently appears alive in a later-era account 182 185.

Dark Era and Final Pursuit

After regaining his sanity following a thousand-year conflict, Tang San gains immense power from Xiao Wu's sacrifice and resolves to defeat Chen Fan and resurrect her 207. He then absorbs Huo Yuhao, Tang Wulin, and Tang Xuanyu, causing them to vanish from the timeline while granting him transcendent power 211.

Tang San destroys the Dark Universe and countless reincarnated Chen Fans, then becomes the Administrator of a new world 212. When Chen Fan returns after merging with reincarnation, Tang San's renewed attempt at revenge ends when Chen Fan severs his core and annihilates him 213 214.
