Power Progression
These entries record the strongest documented refinements and grades among Wang Chen's Heavenly Demon Puppets, rather than the growth of one individual puppet.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Human Demon Puppet — Nine-Star Dou Zong | 112 | Wang Chen's first completed puppet. Refined with a conventional soul, it reached the limit of the Human grade but could not be enhanced by the Golden Finger. |
| Special Heavenly Demon Puppet — Sixth-Transformation Dou Zun | 113 | The first Flame Spirit-based model. Its pre-enhanced materials and Flame Spirit core produced a dark-gold puppet with the Icefire Poison ability. |
| Special Heavenly Demon Puppets — Third-Transformation to Nine-Star Dou Zun | 113 | Wang Chen refined six additional units: two Third-Transformation, two Five-Star, and two Nine-Star Dou Zun puppets, bringing his initial special-puppet force to seven. |
| Half-Saint | 125–126 | A strengthened Dou Zong corpse, enhanced Tier 9 Magic Core, Flame Spirit, and Exotic Metal produced Wang Chen's first purple Half-Saint puppet. |
| Multiple Half-Saint units | 194, 224 | Wang Chen possessed five Half-Saint puppets by Chapter 194; later, he refined Dou Emperor corpses into further Half-Saint units for the Kunlun Alliance's expansion. |
| Peak Dou Sheng | 237 | Tian Shuangzi's enhanced Dou Zun corpse, an above-Tier-9 Magic Core, Crimson Thunder Mithril, and Wang Chen's strongest materials produced a Peak Dou Sheng-level puppet. |
| Emperor Tier / Dou God | 247–248 | Wang Chen enhanced Dou Sheng corpses until they contained Origin Qi, then used Emperor-Tier materials to refine three Emperor-Tier Heavenly Demon Puppets. |
Background / History
The Heavenly Demon Puppet is an ancient puppet-refining secret technique rather than a Dou Technique or cultivation method. Its standard procedure uses a body as vessel, a soul as guide, and a Magic Core as heart; its grade—Human, Earth, or Heaven—depends on the materials and refining flame. Conventional puppets are emotionless weapons of slaughter that feel neither joy nor pain. 112
Wang Chen targeted Demon Flame Valley specifically to obtain the technique. Following the valley's destruction, he recovered its hidden bamboo slip and began experimenting with the method in seclusion. His first successful Human Demon Puppet possessed Nine-Star Dou Zong strength, but the conventional soul within it prevented the Golden Finger from enhancing the finished construct. 109 112
He solved this incompatibility by replacing the soul component with a Flame Spirit. Before refinement, Wang Chen tempers corpse materials to remove corpse qi and lingering spiritual remnants, then enhances the purified corpse, Magic Core, and Exotic Metal. During refinement, the Flame Spirit is placed into the puppet's forehead and ultimately dispersed throughout the body, allowing the completed puppet to retain the Flame Spirit's innate talent. 113
This redesigned model became the foundation of Wang Chen's growing puppet force. As he obtained stronger corpses, rarer metals, and higher-grade Magic Cores, his refinements progressed from Dou Zun-level enforcers to Half-Saint, Peak Dou Sheng, and Emperor-Tier combatants. 125 126 237 247 248
Appearance
Heavenly Demon Puppets retain a humanoid corpse-based frame, but their finished appearance is determined by the refining materials and the degree of tempering. Their bodies are coated and permeated with molten Exotic Metal, forming an exceptionally durable metallic exterior. 112 113
- The first Human Demon Puppet was bronze with a faint silver sheen. 112
- Wang Chen's first Flame Spirit-based special puppet finished in a dark-gold color after its Exotic Metal fully fused into the body. 113
- His first Half-Saint puppet turned purple upon completion. 125
- Their external metal layer functions as both armor and a primary means of attack. 121
Abilities & Skills
Autonomous Combat and Physical Strength
Heavenly Demon Puppets fight on command with simple intelligence and strong combat instincts. Their combat style relies overwhelmingly on bodily strength, allowing them to overwhelm opponents through direct physical force. 112 224 251
- They do not feel pain, do not need to breathe, and are not hindered by environments such as deep sand tunnels. 112 118
- Dou Zun-level units can excavate through the ground with enough force to shake the surrounding terrain. 118
- Four puppets, including a Half-Saint, shattered One-Star Dou Zun Liu Venerable Elder's defense before he could complete spatial movement. 185
- Their agility is inferior to that of genuine cultivators, particularly when facing smaller and faster opponents. 166 251
- Their limited intelligence makes independent pursuit or complex split operations unreliable. 249
Flame Spirit Core
Wang Chen's special puppets replace the conventional soul with a Flame Spirit. This prevents the intelligence-related conflict that blocked Golden Finger enhancement and gives each puppet access to its Flame Spirit's innate talent. 113
- The first successful special model possessed Icefire Poison. 113
- A Flame Spirit is shattered and distributed throughout the puppet's body during refinement, while the Magic Core's energy reinforces its internal channels. 113
- The variant's special abilities distinguish it from ordinary Heavenly Demon Puppets, which otherwise rely almost entirely on their physical bodies. 113 166
- Flame Spirits can be strengthened and provide the puppets with greater long-term growth potential. 113
Lightning Absorption and Evolution
Heavenly Demon Puppets can absorb lightning energy, using it to evolve and improve their strength over time. 249 257
- Wang Chen positions them between himself and Pill Lightning, allowing the puppets to intercept and absorb the tribulation instead of letting it strike him or his pills. 175
- A Dou Sheng-level puppet absorbed Black Demon Lightning during Wang Chen's pill refinement. 257
- Their unusually strong, Golden Finger-enhanced foundations require substantially more lightning energy to evolve than ordinary puppets. 257
Command, Storage, and Assignment
Wang Chen stores his puppets in Storage Rings for rapid deployment and can alter an assigned unit's activation signal for another user. 154 229
- Puppets may be loaned or gifted as guards, including units assigned to Medicine Elder, the Xiao Clan, Queen Medusa, Xiao Yi Xian, Qing Lin, and Wang Qiang. 175 182 199 224
- A Half-Saint puppet can remain concealed and inactive at Kunlun Alliance headquarters without requiring food or drink. 229
- Wang Chen avoids bringing high-level puppets through unstable spatial passages: a Half-Saint unit nearly caused one such passage to collapse, while even a Dou Zun puppet put it under dangerous strain. 154
Refinement Materials and Requirements
- Corpse material — The base vessel. Wang Chen purifies it with Flame Spirits before enhancement, removing corpse qi, resentment, and residual spiritual essence. 113 233
- Guiding essence — Standard puppets use a soul; Wang Chen's improved models use Flame Spirits instead. 112 113
- Magic Core — Inserted into the chest as the puppet's heart and energy source. 112 113
- Exotic Metal — Melted over the body and fused inward to form the puppet's durable metallic structure. Its scarcity limits Wang Chen's production capacity. 121
- Refining flame — The flame's quality affects the final grade, while Flame Spirits perform the tempering and fusion work. 112 113
Human corpses are the preferred vessel. Wang Chen experimented with magical beast bodies, but their massive size required excessive Exotic Metal and produced cumbersome constructs that performed poorly against agile enemies. 166

- East Dragon Island refinement — Wang Chen uses Dou Sheng corpses supplied by Zhu Li to create three Emperor-Tier puppets, whose aura alarms Saint-level experts across East Dragon Island. 247 248
Trivia
- Wang Chen's first Human Demon Puppet is kept in storage rather than deployed because its soul prevents Golden Finger enhancement and its Nine-Star Dou Zong strength is obsolete beside his later creations. 113
- The first Flame Spirit-based special puppet reached Sixth-Transformation Dou Zun immediately after refinement and was already classified as Enhancement +2. 113
- Wang Chen's magical-beast-puppet experiment was repurposed into a special flying vehicle after he abandoned further research into beast-bodied Heavenly Demon Puppets. 166
