An Unexpected Turn in the Match

"Then Miss Muya, please answer."

Muya rose to her feet as if life had lost all meaning. "A werewolf's original form is human. It can turn into a human or a wolf. A wolf is a wolf and cannot turn into a human."

The classroom fell silent for three seconds. Snape stiffly told her to sit down.

"It seemed Lupin never taught you the basic difference between the two," Snape said as he returned to the podium.

A Gryffindor student bravely spoke up. "We haven't covered that chapter yet. We've only gotten to—"

"Silence!" Snape snapped. "I never imagined I would encounter third-years incapable of identifying a werewolf." He glanced at the guilty Muya.

Muya complained inwardly, Weren't werewolves only covered this term? And looking at all those Defense Against the Dark Arts professors over the years, I've already decided to give up.

In the end, Snape assigned them an essay and required it to be at least two rolls of parchment long.

For Muya, who still had a Transfiguration essay to write, this was nothing short of a disaster.

"So you dumped your essay on me?" Tom looked at the two rolls of parchment on the table and laughed in exasperation.

Muya leaned closer. "Please, I'll do the cleaning for a month."

Tom said nothing and merely looked at her.

"Then... three months?"

Muya gritted her teeth. "Five months. No more than that."

"Fine."

Muya carried Yue Mi off to play with Calori.

"Calori, look, this is the Niffler I just got. Her name is Yue Mi." Muya set Yue Mi down on the grass.

Calori did not even glance at her. "Mm."

"Weren't you holding some kind of match today?"

Muya looked at the umbrella in her hand, then gestured for Calori to look at the gloomy sky.
