Background / History

Yun Shan is the grandson of the Yun Family’s Eldest Sister and the son of Yun Xin’er. After Yun Xin’er died in the Moonfall Empire’s struggle over a suspected Heavenly Flame, Lin Lan traced her history to the Jia Ma Empire and brought Yun Shan back to Great Qian. Yun Yun, Yun Shan’s aunt, accepted a ten-year agreement for him to return to the Misty Cloud Sect; before then, he had already formed a strong attachment to her. 156 157 183

Zhao Li took interest in Yun Shan because of his talent and future potential. Lin Lan handled much of his early care and foundation-building, while Zhao Li eventually accepted him as a disciple and personally shaped his outlook on cultivation, self-reliance, limits, and protection. 157 158 183 184
