Background / History

Matilda was known in her Columbia neighborhood as the “little white cat.” She was a small, white-haired Feline child cared for by her family while Nana lived nearby. 1

After witnessing the person responsible for killing her family, Matilda instinctively released overwhelming Originium Arts. Despite her own injuries and fear, Nana took responsibility for her protection and brought her to Rhodes Island for treatment. 21 25

At Rhodes Island, Little Cat struggled with basic independence, including navigating an ICU room designed for adults. She befriended Amiya, began studying under Kal'tsit, and continued interacting with manifestations of her deceased family. 28 36 The Bruce family's Arts and the Thought Chain Ring allow those family members—present as Dead Souls—to remain connected to her and assist her in battle. 67

During Nana's long recovery, Little Cat spent three years studying, training, recording her missions, and gradually undertaking supervised field assignments. She eventually completed her Operator assessment and became capable of acting as both a protector and a frontline combatant. 66 71
