Background / History

Suika arrived in Terra as Xigua, a person from another world who had transmigrated into the appearance of Ibuki Suika. Hoshiguma found her bound by three chains that could not be removed due to a powerful restriction. After recognizing her new body in a mirror, Xigua abandoned her former name and introduced herself as Suika, Ibuki Suika. 1 2

While staying under Hoshiguma’s protection in Lungmen, Suika discovered that the chains functioned as Arts Units connected to an Offering Box. Its initial rewards gave her the Ibuki Gourd, Density and Sparsity, and Three-Step Ruin. The Guard Department later accepted the chain-based powers as Arts, although Jiu considered their potential sufficiently dangerous to keep them concealed. 2 9 10

Great Yan’s authorities ultimately ordered Suika to leave Lungmen within six months, granting her 500,000 Lungmen Dollars. Rather than return east, she chose to travel Terra as a messenger, seeking to see its beauty and suffering while helping people where she could. 22 23 39

After leaving Lungmen, Suika survived repeated attempts to capture or kill her, devastating pursuing forces with Three-Step Ruin and sparing Bai Xue after annihilating the rest of her group. She later reached Kazdel, where she encountered Theresa shortly before witnessing the elegy marking the Sarkaz Demon King’s death. 27 31 32

Her travels brought her into contact with the Reunion Movement, Karaton’s Infected children, Rhodes Island, Kazimierz, Kjerag, Siesta, Gensokyo, and Iberia. At Rhodes Island, she became recognized as an Elite Operator, participated in operations including the Chernobog rescue, and used her strength to protect Amiya and other operators. 70 82 216 225 273

Appearance

Suika has the childlike form of Ibuki Suika, though her small stature conceals extraordinary physical power. Her most conspicuous traits are her oversized horns and the chains she wears as ornaments and weapons. 1 131 273

  • Two long horns, each bearing an iron chain with a distinct tip. 306
  • A third, much smaller chain tied into her hair like a hair tie. 131 306
  • Often carries the Ibuki Gourd at her waist. 22
  • Frequently keeps Shanghai, a cloth doll familiar, on her head or close at hand. 131 262
  • Changes into a shrine maiden outfit to use mist transformation and shapeshifting. 264
  • Also owns wilderness gear and wears a Rhodes Island armband while traveling on operations. 252 321

Personality

Suika is carefree, curious, and intensely drawn to alcohol, food, travel, and unusual experiences. She readily explores unfamiliar places, asks blunt questions, and can become delighted by simple pleasures such as drinking contests, local cuisine, or a child’s praise. 108 110 256

Despite her laziness around responsibilities she dislikes, Suika is adaptable and self-directed. She studies when necessary, learns new skills through practice, and is willing to take command when protecting others requires it. She specifically sought greater power so she could escort Whitemane, Mograine, and Leite safely to Rhodes Island. 14 73 216

Suika’s kindness is selective but genuine. She shelters children, cares for Shanghai, assists people threatened by larger forces, and seeks help from Gensokyo to give Amiya a chance to experience a better possible ending. 74 239 262

When provoked or faced with enemies she considers irredeemable, she can be ruthless. Her overwhelming power and tendency to answer threats directly have caused large-scale destruction and numerous deaths, though she sometimes chooses restraint to avoid harming bystanders or disrupting others’ plans. 31 144 175 295

Abilities & Skills

Density and Sparsity

Suika’s central Originium Art manipulates density and sparsity. It began as a self-only ability, allowing her to alter her body’s size, hardness, and state, before later expanding into a large-scale force manipulation Art. 2 73

  • Enlarges or shrinks her body; she can grow to a giant size. 2 31 265
  • Can harden her body beyond steel or transform fully into mist. 264
  • Can create powerful attraction and repulsion effects, including Universal Pull and Almighty Push. 67 83 264
  • Can disperse or gather crowds and manipulate the movement of Originium particles. 265
  • Uses Great Fog to obscure vision and suppress enemies’ senses. 146 203
  • Can repel Originium particles from herself, enabling her to endure Catastrophes without becoming infected. 82 265
  • Cannot safely remove Originium from an Infected person because her control is not precise enough to avoid catastrophic internal injury. 265

Four Heavenly Kings Secret Art: Three-Step Ruin

A signature Oni technique that combines Suika’s expanding body with escalating force.

  • Each step increases her body size and doubles her strength. 2
  • The third-step punch is the technique’s destructive peak. 2
  • Its enlarging effect makes Suika easier to hit while charging. 2
  • Suika used a restrained version to save Hoshiguma and a full-power version to destroy a valley. 27 31
  • Destroyed an Ursus High-Speed Battleship with a single punch. 49

Ice Talisman: Ice Burst

A wide-area ice spell acquired to compensate for Suika’s lack of ranged attacks. 32

  • Freezes targets through magical power even without direct cold-air manipulation. 32
  • Produces a large bullet barrage effective for suppression and area control. 32
  • Can be dangerous around allies because it has no friend-or-foe recognition. 73
  • Used against Mephisto’s forces and airborne drones. 200

Flight

Suika learned basic yokai flight through the Offering Box. 32

  • Provides rapid aerial movement and removes her former mobility weakness. 32
  • Can carry several people, though doing so is inconvenient. 73
  • She also owns a flying broom capable of cruising at 80 km/h, reaching 200 km/h, and flying up to five kilometers high. 37

Mt. Togakushi Throw

A spell that forms a conceptual Mount Togakushi in Suika’s palm, pulling in surrounding nonliving matter before hurling it. 48

  • Charge time increases the mass of the constructed “mountain.” 48
  • Maximum scale is an object as large as an entire mountain. 48
  • Throwing range reaches five kilometers. 48
  • Suika combines it with Ice Burst to immobilize enemies before burying them under gathered terrain. 49

Mount Oe Tempest

A force-based spell derived from Yuugi Hoshiguma’s strength. 73

  • Generates a devastating gale with a punch. 73
  • Lets Suika’s ordinary strikes produce long-range shockwaves. 73
  • Can be combined with Density and Sparsity to create hurricane-scale attacks. 201
  • Used to break dense formations during the Chernobog operation. 225

Little Night Parade of a Hundred Demons

Suika can create innumerable miniature clones by exhaling. 74

  • Clones share Suika’s thoughts and are capable of independent action. 84
  • Used for scouting, target detection, swarming enemies, and guarding allies. 77 314
  • Individual clones are much weaker than Suika herself, but remain dangerous to ordinary opponents. 74
  • One clone accepted the name Shanghai and became Suika’s primary companion. 84

Drink Invitation and Ibuki Gourd Arts

Suika’s drinking-related ability and gourd allow her to turn alcohol into a weapon or social tool.

  • Never Refused When Offered a Drink manifests as an instinctive ability related to accepting drinks. 7
  • The Ibuki Gourd can provide different drinks, including low-alcohol grape juice for children. 215
  • Suika used the gourd to force hostile thugs into excessive drinking, resulting in their hospitalization. 111
  • She can incapacitate groups without killing them by making them drunk. 118

Great Fortune Sigil

Suika can inscribe luck-enhancing sigils onto objects. 225 260

  • Raises the holder’s luck. 260
  • The benefit is balanced by worsening Suika’s own luck. 260
  • She distributed sigils to Rhodes Island operators before the Chernobog operation. 225
  • Her Hina Doll can interact with the sigil’s luck effects. 255

Ghost King Powers

Suika’s anger can awaken a fear-inducing Ghost King aura. 286

  • Incapacitated an entire town and multiple Inquisition personnel. 286
  • Left one Inquisitor so traumatized that he could no longer hold a weapon. 286
  • Her Ghost Fire killed nearly one hundred ambushers in a dried riverbed. 295

Musical Abilities

Suika acquired the three Prismriver Sisters’ musical abilities and a fourth combined ability. 293

  • Can perform Melancholy Sound, Manic Sound, and Fantasy Sound. 293
  • Can play instruments without using her hands. 293
  • Instinctively understands music theory, sheet music, and the use of many instruments. 293 295
  • Melancholy and Manic Sound can influence listeners’ emotions and erode psychological defenses. 293
  • Requires actual instruments to use effectively. 293
