History

Founding and Early Rule

Pet Silver Eagle rose from leadership of the once-insignificant Silver Eagle Lineage to unify the surrounding lands and establish the Empire. His stated purpose was to end an era of chaos rather than conquer the entire continent. 16 18

Under Pet's rule, the Empire maintained strategic deterrence against neighboring states but generally avoided expansion. Its military strength, logistics, and fortress network made it the dominant human power in the region. 17 18

War with the Five-Nation Alliance

The Klima Empire, Pivent Empire, Mantoia Kingdom, Pattison Kingdom, and Brunzi Duchy attacked the Empire in a war ostensibly triggered by a border dispute. The Alliance launched its invasion without first sending diplomats. 17

The Empire initially ordered its forces to hold the northern fortresses while diplomatic envoys investigated the attackers' motives. After the Alliance rejected a ceasefire and threatened the Empire's destruction, Emperor Pete prepared a counteroffensive. 17 18

During the war, a strategic Teleportation Array in the Southern Wilderness transported at least tens of thousands of magical beasts into Imperial cities, military camps, and outposts. The resulting attacks caused enormous civilian and military losses across the country. 19 20 21

Imperial investigators eventually determined that the urban arrays had been preconfigured and activated from within the Empire. The mastermind was identified as Falon, commander of the Imperial Guard Legion, who had betrayed the Empire. 24 31

The Empire ultimately won the war, purged confirmed internal traitors, and later reduced the Five-Nation Alliance states to vassal states. 31 63

Postwar Reforms and Eastern Expansion

The war and magical-beast invasion severely damaged the Empire's cities, population, and infrastructure. In response, Emperor Pete began reforms intended to improve governance and prevent military power from becoming overly concentrated. 31

After Pete died of illness, his eldest son Sabota/Sapota Silver Eagle succeeded him. Unlike his father, the new emperor actively pursued expansion. 55 63

With the Eastern Mountains opened, the Empire identified the Lumbart Kingdom as a route into the central continent. It used the spread of the Hope Sect as a public justification for military preparations, while its leadership privately viewed the campaign as territorial expansion. 55 63

The Imperial Expeditionary Army crossed the mountains and assaulted a Lumbart fortress with cannon fire. Its advance halted after the Light Church discovered that the Lumbart defenders had been mentally controlled by Calamity power. 80
